Well, I think I might be able to respray that speed shape, wet sanded it tonight with a 1500 grit, 2” square sanding pad and cut through the pain and primer way quicker than expected! I also used my lexan scissors to cut the flanges where a lot of the paint pooled and bubbled off the bottom and wet sanded those up too.

If you put a bubble canopy and wheels underneath that thing, you'd have a great Streamliner or Slat Flats car.

That has crossed my mind for years now, then the XL ones DYC sell might fit over an R/C chassis too?

I may have to try and get one of those, but they’re way more expensive than the little ones are.

Drivers driving slow or hogging the passing lane during peak hours. I believe the law is if you’re not attempting to pass a vehicle to his right, you must get out of the left passing lane and move back to the right lane. This happened to me twice yesterday. Some folks are so inconsiderate for hogging and riding the passing lane. If you’re not gonna pass, get out of the lane! Rant over. LOL!

Dido on left lane sitters. This is a problem in this area as well. In my limited travels I have visited a few states where they do enforce that section of the Vehicle Code Book. Try that in Tn. and you well be contributing to the states operating capital.

I like the people that stomp on the gas as if to say "you cut me off" after you pull out. Slow the (blank) down. Who is paying for your gas?

i had been looking for a playstation 5 off and on for a while. today best buy had them online in stock. however, you needed to be a member of the 200 dollar per year total tech membership, which gives you access to hard to find items like the ps5.

basically i would have needed to spend 200 dollars, just to be able to buy a 500 gaming system. i can just go to stockx and get it cheaper. i been trying to pay retail only

No you don’t on both counts.

Don’t believe Best Buy and their policy that you must buy into their so-called Total Tech Membership in order for you to purchase a PS5 online. It’s a commission ploy.  It’s kinda like buying an extended warranty that you don’t need on a new car at a auto dealership.

I stopped shopping at Best Buy years ago because I got tired of listening to their sales pitch on Total Tech Membership. The last time they started with me, I told them..... well, you fill in the blanks.

on the page, there was no add to cart, button. the site said this is reserved for the total membership members only. join the membership to buy this item. amazon had it today too, and i had it in my cart like 6 times, and everytime it would fail to get to the next page. finally it was marked as sold out. i think im going to give up for a while on trying to get it. i really only want to play a couple of games.

I have a big Irk, and a question.

I'll have my One-year anniversary with my new employer soon. I enquired about vacation, as I will have accrued some Vacation Time on that date.

I was told that at one year, I get 2 (two) days of vacation time!!!!  Two, Whole Days!, and they were proud of it! They also told me that you need to work there 10 (Ten) years to accrue 2 Weeks.......

Has anybody run into this before? I am in California. Is this a Labour Board Issue, or am I way off base? I've been working full time since 1981 and have never seen less than 5 days after one year.  I am just flabbergasted.

I'd check into the state's labor laws, as they differ by state.  I'm in New York, have been doing payroll and HR in every job I have ever held.  I've never seen mandatory vacation time, ever, not even in contracts negotiated with the construction trade unions that I dealt with years ago (and again in recent years).  Individual states have, in recent years, started to institute "paid leave", but again that differs by state.  I'd suspect some employers are whittling down paid vacation when "paid leave" kicks in.  Nothing is ever free.

When I started a new job in California (1977) moving from Illinois I received two weeks after completing my first year. At five years I got another week and after 10 years I had four. in addition to sick days.

Two days after 1 year?!? 2 weeks after 10 years!? Who are you working for? What a bunch of cheap....

If I were you, I’d quit and find employment somewhere else ASAP where they appreciate your loyalty working.

I’ve always gotten 2 weeks every year and carried over weeks I haven’t used. After 32 years, I still carry a maximum of 4 weeks a year each year for the last 20 years working at my place of employment.

Whoever you’re employed with sounds like a bunch of idiots thinking they can pull this stunt on their employees. Time to find greener pastures and tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Yeah, that is crazy...w/ my current job, I got 15 days off incl. holidays (had to take holiday I wanted off as vacation days, which was weird)  my first year (2021), my 2nd year it was reworked to 24 days + 12 fixed holidays because they realized that having some fixed holidays/closed business days made sense.  I couldn't imagine less than 2 weeks.

I get that paid time off costs a company, but it costs them more to constantly recruit, train and repeat if they don't value their employees. About 6 years ago I interviewed with General Motors for a field sales/service position. Their benefits were incredible- 3 weeks of vacation on the first day PLUS close to 30 days of leave/holiday/plant shutdown time! I did the math and figured that it came out to about 41 weeks a year that I would actually be working!

I would talk to your supervisor/manager/owner and ask if they can do something about the lack of vacation time. Not sure what type of work you do but I would think in the current economy, employers want to hang on to quality employees.

Pretty much everything was irksome today.

I've got some kind of cold or flu, and my back is hurting again. My cable box isn't working, so I pulled it (with a lot of pain due to its location) and took an hour of my day to take it to the cable joint for a replacement. Get home, plug it in (with more pain involved, of course), and it does exactly the same thing as the old one. Looks like I'll have to schedule a home call. Sigh.

On the way home, stopped at Walmart and bought a Samsung Galaxy 8 tablet. I've been using TLMS's Apple IPod for about 2 years now. All I ever do on it is stream TV and radio. She's very generous about sharing it but several times a week she's using it when I want to, and I NEVER ask to impose on her time because the thing is hers. (Of course, I pay the WiFi bill.) So I bought this (relatively) cheap Samsung to fill in those times when I can't use hers.

It took me over an hour to set the Samsung up to where I could do ANYTHING with it. Couldn't find any way to stream any TV but I did open Google Chrome which is were I get my radio programs, so that was all good. Modeler and Goodguy Rodent heard my sad and desperate cry for help and walked me through finding where the TV apps were hidden. So far I've been able to access ABC, NBC, History Channel, AMC, and FXNow. Got Discovery installed but haven't been able to make it work yet but I think it'll be okay. Still looking to get HBOMAX, ShowtimeAnytime, and Netflix, but I'm optimistic all around. Worse comes to worst, I can get along pretty good with the channels I have now; I still have access to TLMS's IPad, of course. So the day ended a little better than it started. So I got that goin' for me. Thanks again, Rodent--you made my day. B)

Thanks Snake, we do what we can for our Brothers in Styrene. I hope it works out for you. Not sure what you are trying to do or where you want to enjoy the tablet, but a ~30 ish inch tv with a Roku in your model room may serve your needs better than a tablet.

netflix should be in the app store

As mentioned by others the labor laws are all over the place from state to state.  The first thing to check is the employee manual that the employer should have given you a copy of when you were hired. Without a written statement from your employer your benefits are whatever they say they are at the time they state them. California is what they call a "Wright to work" state. That means you have the wright to work for however long the employer wants you to work for whatever they want to pay you. Beyond whatever they have given you in writing is your word against theirs if you have to go to the Labor Board.

Not worried about motels, I'm using the thing in various random locations in my house. I'd been listening to radio on my desktop but found that some channels eat up so much bandwidth that it impedes other programs I'm using at the same time.

I've downloaded Netflix fine, just need to log in. Our daughter has our Netflix account so I'll let her log us in when we see her for Easter. Until then I still have use of TLMS's IPod, so I'm good. B)
