The saying does tell the story though. It is hard to say your true feelings about someone's work when they're asking for your opinion. While you want to offer constructive encouragement you don't want to come across like your criticizing their work. I have seen some paint work that has more orange peel than an orange, but the builder is proud of their work. What do you do ?? I guess we all have different standards as to how we think something should look or the style in which it is built. More than once I have had to bite my tongue and said nothing. Toms post which I agreed with wasn't about painting talent or lack of so much as about bad and just plain wrong advice.

Seems that you might benefit from a change of friends.

I wouldn't buy anything from him. This is going to bother me now. I am a animal lover... Yes. I agree Slusher. And the pup his friend took. Their night be problems in the future. Sounds like too much breeding going on there.

If he has an issue with you. He should be upfront. You gave him a second chance. He blew it.

Without missing a beat he responded "get a better bunch of friends?" Well played my son....well played!

My daughter-in-law knows the breeder, she was a vet tech and he used the clinic she used to work at. Said as a breeder he is a class act . She knew that he put down his own animals but did not know that he was doing that. I checked with the locals and they said it would be my word against his (my friend said he was staying out of it) so they would not even consider going after him without more to go on. They went on to say that they know him to be a good dog breeder and considered him above reproach. The ones I thought would be the most appalled by it said how he puts down a suffering animal is his own business. Said it wasn't like he was being cruel or abusing the animal. So guess that is where it stands!
OldTrucker Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 What irked me today??? The flex pipe on my 2006 HHR broke again! Last time I bought a repair piece that was supposed to be a slip over and clamp affair only to need to be welded on. In the end I could have bought the whole cat converter for less than what I paid in the end! This time I ordered a new cat so it is just a bolt in. Also ordered new O2 sensors rather than fighting the old ones out, besides they were most likely bad as they were throwing codes. Then had a tire separate so had to get a new pair for the back. Guess I know why that tire had a slow leak that no one could find.

I just had all of the brake hard lines and hoses replaced on my 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. It was at the shop a while as I had to find the hard lines, and then my garage agreed to do the work at a reduced rate when they had idle time. I got it back two weeks ago. I go out to take it for a spin the next day... battery dead! Won't take a charge. So I went and bought a new one! And now my Hyundai has a slow leaker front tire!
NYLIBUD Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Walking around a car show today with a broken foot. For weeks my foot has been throbbing. Its getting so bad, that now it's time for a trip to the hospital for an ex-ray.Theres a million bones in your feet,I must of broken or fractured something.??.

I hear yah there, that's mainly whybI was thinking about selling my Jeep, too many issues that aren't going away or other to replace the ones that are. Then there is the time and weather to fix them, since we don't have a useable garage, we can't work on it in incliment weather or after dark and Mom's medical issues and caring for her that has takes up time that the weather and darkness doesn't. Sometimes it feels like I could take all 2 weeks of my vacation time when the weather will be really good so we can wrench on it and have somebody keep an eye on Mom and it still won't be enough time to fix all we need to. At least with it being an older, somewhat desireable Jeep, it carries more resale value and even though it is rusty, is regaining value, and I can sell it for more than I could most of vehicles from '98 in the same, if not slightly better shape. Ace-Garageguy Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Blew the second subwoofer speaker cone in the main house system in three months. Replaced them both about 5 years back, so I guess it's just that time.
Tom Geiger Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Tax Day! I'm sitting here avoiding writing a rather sizable check! Maybe I should just do it and get it over with!
cobraman Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Your not alone, we had to write a check also. But just over a grand.

disabled modeler Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Me... yesterday all day long at the doctors and hospital for testing....and I have to go back today for more and on and off all week long...
LouO Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 For me...listening to the same dude this morning (from up the street) deciding he needs to come block and yell in to his cell phone at his girlfriend, and that she owes him money. Last night I got the "live version" - thanks buddy.
PierreR89 Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 What irked me today was my suburban or parts of it... Was going to replace the upper balljoints on both sides as they failed inspection. i did a qiuck look at them before i ordered the parts and it looked like they had been replaced before and i thought that i had gotten lucky for once. Factory upper balljoints are riveted in the controllarm and replacements are just attached with nuts and bolts instead of rivets. After i got the wheel off and cleaned of the dirt i was staring at 3 rivetheads... and i dont have an grinder to remove them, neither did my neighbours. Took and felt on the castlenut to see it it was moving anything at all before i continue and it was siezed up with rust so the only thing that moved when i used all my force was the suburban as i would have pulled it off the jackstand... Then i tried to replace the stabilizerlink and the nut for it came off surprisingly easy but then the thrubolt that goes inside a piece of pipe that holds the flanges for the bushings was siezed so it did not move at all even when i used a sledge to "convince" it to move.. Would have needed a grinder for that to.. I only tightend the nut again and pretended that i never was there... Then i tried to loosen one bolt for the towbar as it also failed inspection due to rust and i instantly snapped that bolt off... So now i have given up and am planning to let a garage work on those problems and then have it inspected. No point in me doing it without the right tools anyways.. I did manage to get my parkingcables attached to eachother again after i replaced the connector that holds them so atleast something worked out like i wanted it to.
Rodent Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Ordered some aftermarket model parts that showed in stock on the 9th. Got a confirmation email on the 11th that my order had been received and would be shipped soon. Now crickets. This vendor charges exorbitant shipping, so I decided not to pay $16 for what probably will be a small padded envelope when it gets here. Gotta start buying this kind of stuff on ebay or not at all.
Pace Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Don’t Know if this is the right topic for this but I’m suffering from pollen allergy which have irked me for several days now in a number of ways, hopefully it will get better in the end of May for me.
