Jantrix Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Came across this on FB today. We're pretty stumped on what it is. I figure its a kit car, but what manufacturer and based on what? The windshield is too laid back for a 80's/90's Camaro/Firebird. The nose is very 80's Skyhawk-ish. Thoughts?
wisdonm Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I'd say it's a one off. Too fugly to be mass produced or even copied a second time.
sjordan2 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 This site can probably find the answer...http://priceofhistoys.com/
TooOld Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 The door and windows look similar to some of the Diablo kits from the 90's but not exactly . And the wheel openings look more truck like . I worked in the kit car industry for 20 years and never saw anything like this !
Casey Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It appears the entire front nose and hood are metal, so that might rule out most kit cars. Whatever it is, it sure is unpleasant on the eyes.
Skydime Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 From the way you all are talking, I can't wait to get off this job and onto my other one so, I can see this thing. Most pictures don't show up on this "virtual network".
iBorg Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It has some interesting lines....not good lines.....just interesting.
kratvmnd Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I believe it's a Pondiabloreanghini. No one has ever tried to replicate one,so this may be the only one.
Skydime Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) Ooh, I came back and it let me see it this time. Man, this is ugly. I would definitely say 88 Buick Skyhawk is the front end they were aiming for. I gotta admit though, shorten the front end, do away with the fat fender wheels in the front, and fix the front of the door and the door window and it wouldn't look half bad. And if I could see those seats better, I would swear it is a Fiero. Edited September 27, 2013 by Skydime
my80malibu Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I think its the Pink Pantherfiero, repainted of course.
Daddyfink Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Looks like a Bricklin, a Capri and one Anteater had an affair!! I hate to say it, but, I kinda like it
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Poor little car. It's so sad and horrible, I'd kinda like to take it home and give it some TLC. Sorta like an abused, one-eyed, 3-legged puppy with worms. There just MIGHT be a really good dog under there.
espo Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Someone put a lot of effort into this. But to me it's look that not even a mother could love.
oldcarfan Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 You might check this site too. http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com/ They cover old kit cars...
Skydime Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Due to the sheetmetal front clip, I am going out on a limb to say this wasn't a kit car. Most likely a one off.
Daddyfink Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 American Racing Daisy Mags give it some street cred
Fabrux Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I don't know, but that front clip looks fibreglass to me. The body shell actually appears to be one piece; I can't see a parting line where a seperate fender should.
Deathgoblin Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Is it sad that I rather like the design of it? At least it's not the plain beige of most modern cars. I'd like to see the rest of it.
kitbash1 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Looks like someone uglyied up a Bricklin something bad.

That could just be very whethered where it looks rusted. EDIT By heck, you are right! I just noticed the hole in the fender lip. Edited September 28, 2013 by Skydime
heinz74 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 looks like something from Discovery's Chop Shop...
pharoah Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I don't know. This car (Zimmer Quicksilver) is built from a Fiero, and look at that snout.
Skip Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 One word. Hideous! I wish I hadn't picked up my new glasses!
