Came across this on FB today. We're pretty stumped on what it is. I figure its a kit car, but what manufacturer and based on what? The windshield is too laid back for a 80's/90's Camaro/Firebird. The nose is very 80's Skyhawk-ish. Thoughts?

The door and windows look similar to some of the Diablo kits from the 90's but not exactly . And the wheel openings look more truck like .

I worked in the kit car industry for 20 years and never saw anything like this !

It appears the entire front nose and hood are metal, so that might rule out most kit cars. Whatever it is, it sure is unpleasant on the eyes.

From the way you all are talking, I can't wait to get off this job and onto my other one so, I can see this thing. Most pictures don't show up on this "virtual network".

Ooh, I came back and it let me see it this time. Man, this is ugly. I would definitely say 88 Buick Skyhawk is the front end they were aiming for. I gotta admit though, shorten the front end, do away with the fat fender wheels in the front, and fix the front of the door and the door window and it wouldn't look half bad. And if I could see those seats better, I would swear it is a Fiero.

Poor little car. It's so sad and horrible, I'd kinda like to take it home and give it some TLC. Sorta like an abused, one-eyed, 3-legged puppy with worms. There just MIGHT be a really good dog under there.

I don't know, but that front clip looks fibreglass to me. The body shell actually appears to be one piece; I can't see a parting line where a seperate fender should.

You know, you could very well be right. That could just be very whethered where it looks rusted.

EDIT

By heck, you are right! I just noticed the hole in the fender lip.
