The Junkman Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 (edited) One of the things that I love about Canada is how all these wonderful cars come out of the woodwork when the weather is good. We were in the wilds of the Ontario "wine country" in 2009 and wound up at a 4 way stop with a 68 Beaumont SD 396 convertible. Seems like Ontario has been better for my car spotting, but it looks like BC is good too. I just didn't experience it during my visits. We end up going to Ontario a least once a year (the in-laws live in and aboot Toronto) and I love the "not quite GM" variations you never see in the states. Astre, Beaumont, etc. (As an aside, in a previous life as a CHP officer a sheriff deputy called for me to verify the legitimacy of a vaguely American sedan. 1970 Beaumont, he'd never seen one.) First Lada I'd ever seen was there. I took a road trip to PEI in 2013 and in Moncton, NB I saw more newer Shelby GT500's in one morning than I ever have in the past many years. To bring this back on topic I went to a local car show on Saturday and saw this. There's a bit of a political statement involved but the restoration was nicely done. The paint job had an eggshell finish to it, oddly enough. Google "State of Jefferson" Edited September 18, 2017 by The Junkman
Rob Hall Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Beautiful weather but unseasonably hot lately for this time of year (around 90), saw a bunch on interesting old cars out and about today. A couple streets over from me saw a sharp dark olive green '70-72 Monte Carlo on Cragar SS wheels (couldn't see the front, so not sure of the year), on the road a sharp yellow '72 Buick GS convertible, top down, white interior; a very clean '87-90 Chevy Caprice--dark red w/ no vinyl top, white walls and wire wheel covers; and at Swenson's (NE Ohio drive in burger joint) a pair of well worn-but-still driven older Mopars--a red '69 Polara 2dr ht w/ tattered black vinyl top and a dark green '74-76 Dodge 4x4 pickup...sitting side by side.

Tom Geiger Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Saturday was bright sunny day here in Exton, PA. This shot was taken about 2 blocks from my house. There were four cars! And this is what was in front of the Jaguar! Never saw anything this cool on the roads before. Funny thing, the four weren't traveling together. The Chrysler and the Jaguar both made a right at the next light, while the Mustang and Buick went straight.
Joe Handley Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Saw this heading over to visit Mom at the hospital after work tonight, for some reason it was up here in Winfield from Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet tonight?!
Joe Handley Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 (edited) Two new ones, had lunch at the St Charles Portillos the other day and when I left, this was parked next to my 200. It's a a Zero DS Electric Dual Sport bike! Apparently the current model has 125mile range and accellerates like a very healthy sport bike! Then I saw this yhe next night after work heading back out to Winfield to visit Mom at CDH and saw a very rare sight, what appears to be a 2dr, 2wd, barn door Tahoe! This generation Tahoe/Blazer aren't common as 4wd with a tail and lift gate, let alone in 2wd with Suburbans style Barn Doors. Kinda digging the drop and late model wheels too. Ace-Garageguy Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 '74 Pantera? '73-'74 got the rubber nose. With the chrome bumpers looks earlier..71-72? Correct. She's in the shop with clutch problems.
Rob Hall Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Saw this Halloween display a couple streets over, using a '57 Chevy 150 2dr sedan..
cobraman Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 That's pretty cool. My stupid HOA would never allow that however.
Tom Geiger Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 That's pretty cool. My stupid HOA would never allow that however. Yup, mine would have a coronary! I could argue, "The bylaws say no concrete statues or Virgin Mary shrines, but where does it say anything about '57 Chevys??"
RancheroSteve Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 This Lotus 11 tribute/replica caught my eye:
espo Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Hellcat Challenger Great looking car, but are you 100% sure it's a Hell Cat ?? The reason I ask is that several of these with the 392 Hemi, not Hell Cats, are in my area and they have that same side markings. I think either MoPar or some other after market suppliers are offering the lookalike decals. Still like it. Saw a black one with a very dark gray decal the other day and you only notice the "cat" at just the right angle.
HomerS Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Had the fender logo and the right hood. I've seen it around for a couple month on the road but never stopped. I wish Round2 or Revell would update their tool. I'll take a yellow one
landman Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Somebody's next projects, a 1931 REO and a 40 something Mercury.

Rob Hall Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) Took a drive along the Lake Erie coast yesterday afternoon, beautiful day...saw a white late model Jeep Wrangler in my rear view mirror with a modified grille that spelled out 'OHIO' (which read OIHO in the mirror). Also saw a clean red '75 Cutlass coupe on a small town used car lot. Edited October 21, 2017 by Rob Hall
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 1965? Ford LTD sedan. Not liking the choice of wheels but I haven't seen one of these on the road in a while.
