Chuckyg1 Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Vacationing in Hilton Head Island. Here's a few I was able to get pictures of. The red vee-dub made it down from Vermont, quite impressive. The pickup was doing dity at a welcome center, and slowly returning from where it came. And the thing..... well. Its just a thing i saw. Also saw what looked like a 58-59 XK 150 Jaguar. Couldn't get my phone out quick enough. Beautiful car.f 2

Rodent Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Not my pic, but this slightly interrupted our trip to dinner tonight. Auto transport trailer with three GM U-Haul vans aboard tipped over exiting the freeway on a slightly off-camber left turn from the offramp. The chaos lasted for at least 2 hours. 1
89AKurt Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Digging the '68 Chevy plant bed! ? You know how cellphones go to sleep, and you have to click click swipe to wake them up to take a picture, so I miss many cars on the road around my town. Saw this coming behind me so I had the opportunity to take pictures. That's my '68 tonight, Blue Cloud has been my daily driver for 9 days because parts for my Honda have been back ordered. 1

Wonder how long that driver has worked for that outfit, not counting today.

KWT Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 I don't really like these jeep trucks, but this one looked sweet

Rob Hall Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 (edited) Saw a very loud rumbly '57 Chevy 2dr sedan street machine the other evening, black w/ flames. Such an alien sight in traffic w/ generic sedans and CUVs. And a very sharp kandy red '72 Impala convertible, white interior lowrider. Saw a clean '79-ish Eldorado for sale, yellow w/ the stainless steel roof panel. Saw a bright red '32 Ford 3 window coupe chopped top hot rod on the freeway.. Maybe the car I liked the most of what I saw was a very clean original gold '80 Pontiac Bonneville 4dr. Edited June 11, 2023 by Rob Hall

89AKurt Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Technically not "on the road" but my neighbor's driveway. Guess the engine.
SSNJim Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 The other day I saw a newer Rolls-Royce going down the road. It had "spinner hubcaps" from the factory. Most of the wheel cover was rotating with the tire, but the center (where you would normally see the Ford, Chevy, Honda, or whatever logo) kept the RR logo upright the whole time so you could definitely tell what was being driven. They did rock a bit, but they never moved more than 10-15 degrees. The section not rotating was probably 4-6" in diameter.
ModWrench Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Cutlass Convertible in grocery store parking lot. 64 Galaxie 500 - has the 427 badges on it and 4 speed manual. Looked to be in really nice shape. Saw it in the parking lot in our town park at a free music concert. My wife knows me all too well - she knows I would have hung around post-concert to talk to the owner. She decided we were leaving as the band fired up the last song haha!!

espo Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Thursday, we merged onto Hwy 70 going west around the Kansas Speedway and fell in behind a transport truck with what I'm sure was a load of new Corvettes headed west. They were all wrapped in a tight-fitting white cover with little slits with plastic windows that lined up with the side windows and the windshield. I saw at least two different style wheels and both styles were shiny black colored. From our low vantage point alongside the trailer, it looked like at least two and one red one on the lower deck of the trailer. Hard to take pictures when you're merging with 70 mph + traffic and cars trying to exit in front of you while you're trying to inter traffic and look at car transporters.
