disabled modeler Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I woke up....had chest pains all night long but have them often anyway.
crazyjim Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 FAST had a model car display for the Detroit City Customs Winter Run yesterday at the Garlits Museum. We put up our 20' pole flying Old Glory and a POW/MIA flag as normal. About 10:30am, the DJ announced that the National Anthem would be played. The music started and without a word, the hundreds of people in attendance turned towards our tent where the Flag of the United States was proudly displayed. Made my day.
Lucas van H Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Filled the car up for 47 euro. Glad that the price keeps going down, because a year ago I paid almost 1,59 euro per liter, and now it's down to 1,27
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Just about over the most horrible case of the flu I've ever had. 103 deg. fever lasted several days, and after it subsided all I could do was sleep 20 hours a day for several more. Got on the roof this AM and cleaned out the shop gutters, then made sure the project cars were still covered well enough, as we have lotsa rain headed this way soon. Going back to work tomorrow.
cobraman Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Hope your not going back to it too soon. You may make yourself sick all over again.

chunkypeanutbutter Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Hey, he woke up. Any day that you wake up above the ground is good in my book, until it changes otherwise.
slusher Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Sunny 50 degrees yesterday and forecast for today 55 and sunny...
Danno Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Sunny 50 degrees yesterday and forecast for today 55 and sunny... Got you beat by 23 degrees.
Tom Geiger Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 There was a train wreck on a commuter train out of NYC where 7 people got killed.. my wife's cousin should have been on that train but decided to work late! I'm not pleased about the wreck, just pleased he wasn't on it!
Joe Handley Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 He's a lucky man Tom, your family doesn't need that on top of your Mother In Law passing!
Tom Geiger Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 He's a lucky man Tom, your family doesn't need that on top of your Mother In Law passing! Amen Joe. One major issue at a time. We are having her funeral on Saturday in NJ
Roadrunner Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I'm pleased that I got down about 250 square feet of R38 insulation in the attic. Still more to add, but I'm well over 70% done with it for now.
martinfan5 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Tower Hobbies pleased me Yesterday, with their awesome customer service, could not be anymore happier with them, looks like I need to do more business with them.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) Walmart is carrying models in Ellsworth again! They only had a Revell "What Year Is This Supposed to Represent?" Beetle, and I had no money. Got a 300 CD changer at Goodwill for $6, here's to hoping it works! Got a couple BB guns from a friend: a CO2 pistol and a Red Ryder, to which I'm affixing a scope tonight. Soda cans, beware... Edited February 5, 2015 by chunkypeanutbutter
High octane Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I sold two 1/16th scale dragster kits and one 1/16th scale funny car kit today, as I'm still "thinnin' out the herd" some.
Earl Marischal Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Having a day off as part of a long weekend. steve
crazyjim Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Sold my bench top table saw yesterday. Miter saw is still up for sale. after it sells, I'm going to buy myself one of those sliding compound miter saws.
James2 Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 No idea what kind of work you do, but you'll always need a good table saw. I have an older Delta with a Uni-fence, it sits more than it gets used but when I need it it is there. My bench top sees more action because of its mobility. Are you set up in a shop?
crazyjim Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I bought the saw from a sorta friend that was looking for quick cash. It sat here for 3 years and was never used. Oh, I don't do any kind of work because I'm retired. never worked in the trades though.
Tom Geiger Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Looked outside this morning and there was a dusting of snow. So I got up at 5:30, showered and got ready for work. At 6:00 my phone pinged with my work email. My boss saying to work from home today. Yes! I didn't have to go out in the cold and deal with traffic in snow.
