What pleased me today is that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series against the Cleveland Indians, in seven games with a rain delay and extra inning in game 7. It was a tough game and of course both teams wanted to be the "champs" as they were a pretty good match up.

The Cubs won in what was one of the best ball games I ever saw. Red Sox fans salute the Cubs! You guys really earned this.

Not all Red Sox fans. Personally I rooted for the Indians. I wanted to see Terry Francona tuck it up the keesters of John Henry, Tom Werner and especially Larry Lucchino, otherwise known as the "Red Sox Brain Trust". Francona got totally screwed by the Sox owners when he was in Boston. I hope the Indians make it back next year and go all the way.

I will agree that Terry did get a bit of a raw deal, but I looked at it this way, only the Cubs had a longer drought than we did, and it was their turn.

I suspect Tito will get to pull the rug out from under the management in the next year or two. The Indians have a great team, and I wouldn't be shocked if it happened next year.

Simple pleasures for a simple mind:

I've been using a cheap Bic disposable single-blade razor since August.

I've never seen a blade hold its edge like this thing does. It's the Energizer Bunny of disposable razors. The angle the head is made at makes it almost impossible to nick yourself, too.

What please me today was how very well behaved my 3 year old behaved in church this morning. He usually behaves pretty well in church, but today he was exceptional. Wow.

Wife and I made a trip to San Diego to spend the holiday with my daughter. Was a great day.Today she took us to tour the SS Midway. What a huge aircraft carrier. Weather was perfect and it was another great day.

Was at the movies today with my better half and saw Rules Don't Apply with Waren Beatty. While the movie was just so-so, there were lots of late 50's and early 60's cars in the movie.

A strong start to the Christmas selling season at the store has been most pleasing.

We had a big sale over the weekend and did about a month's worth of business in three days, and the trend has continued for the last two days.

This keeps up, we'll have a decent 4th quarter.

Heading back to work this afternoon after a month in "exile". 

Long story, but I took an ambulance ride, spent a weekend in the hospital and have been home recuperating for three weeks. 

MrsG is ready to kill me. 

Grateful to be alive and returning to full duty.  I'm a lucky guy, twas a minor blip in comparison to what some are going through.
