We made it through the night.  Temp went down to 21f.  Tonight predicted to be warmer at about 25f.

That is very cold for Florida, Sir..

Dad is on the mend and feeling much better, though he’s sick of having to quarantine in a separate room right now.

That is good news Joe..

Yesterday was my Mother in law’s birth day she would have been 74.  I am not pleased she is gone but pleased she is no hurting. Her first birthday after her death from ovarian cancer.  It squeezed her intestine until she starved to death.

Loosing a loved one is tuff, take comfort in knowing they sleep in peace. Their memories keep them near in heart. Blessings my friend…

Unfortunately, based on weather data, "there is no predictive skill for the groundhog during the most recent years of the analysis," according to a report last year by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The local meteorologist utilizing billons of dollars of Doppler radar are marginally better!!  I've shoveled a couple inches of 'partly cloudy' or used a roll of paper towels on their '10% chance of any rain'  to dry the interior of my car.  As one of the local radio station morning shows commented on the hotness of one of the meteorologist "if you are going to give me complete inaccuracy, at least give me something to look at'

There is an apocryphal story that circulates in the Radio Community about weathermen.

Back in the 1960's when the FCC was still on top of things, a DJ in Alaska on the Midnite to 6pm shift, is supposed to have said on an open mic about 2am, "Ya Wanna Know what the Weather is, Look out the D*** Window!"

By the next morning the station had already been fined by the FCC.

WKRP in Cincinnati.....

Program Director Andy Travis : Now, you have this thing you call "Eyewitness Weather". What is that?

Les Nessman : Well, I just look out the window and witness the weather.

On a more serious note....

I killed our 12 yr old Gas Dryer last Weekend. Accidently fed it a Bic Ballpoint pen. Blue Spots everywhere. Ruined 3 white T-shirts, and 2 dress shirts. Fortunately, the rest of the load was Blue Jeans, so no harm there. After trying all the "guaranteed" fixes from the interwebs, (Hydrogen peroxide, Goo Gone, Dishsoap, Magic Eraser, WD40, Bleach and a tablespoon of California Ethanol Blended Premium Gasoline) Nothing moved the ink. Magic Eraser, got the faint blue film between the spots, but did not fade the spots themselves. So, Time to Bite the Bullet, and go get a new dryer.

Off to the Local (Non Chain) Hometown Giant Appliance Emporium. Things have gotten better for them as the showroom was full of new Items. Chose my dryer, and put it on credit. On the way out, My Daughter who drives me everywhere since I can't drive, want to look at the Big Screen TVs. Turns out the store is getting out of the Home Electronics Business.  The profit Margin is getting too small, and it is taking up valuable floor space, is what the salesman told us. So, all the Bigscreen TVs are on Clearance. We look at the few left. Mostly High End Sony's and some Samsung's. All the LGs and lesser brands are gone. The result, My daughter bought us a 75" Sony Bravia with all the bells and whistles. It will be delivered next week. Thing is heavy (76 lbs), so it is not going on a wall mount. Being a Californian, the Next Big Earthquake is always in the back of your mind. I'd rather it tip over, than fall off my wall. So now to find a 70" wide floor mount table or TV Stand.

I am gobsmacked by her gift!

Great gift. Take it from a former resident of the Golden State, consider strapping that big boy to the wall.

May be an image of 1 person, car and text that says 'WE MIGHT BE OLD... আপরচন 000 BUT WE HAD GREAT HAIR, LISTENED TO COOL MUSIC, AND DROVE THE BEST CARS!'

Reminds me of when I was thick of hair and thin of waist, as opposed to now.

Gotta be careful on that last one, Depending on what's under the hood, some even older lady in a V6 Camry could dust it off on the way to Bingo!

True, but you gotta admit...when the new testosterone-free PC Bullitt 2025 comes out, that Camry somehow just won't have the screen presence of the Mustang.

But heck...they'll probably do the car chase in self-driving 35MPH Uberpods anyway.   B)

We got a little snow Wednesday, nothing of the epic proportions seen by so many others.  Yesterday morning I'm at my work bench hoping for the temperatures to move out of the negative degrees outside with the thought that I would be shoveling a little snow.  This is when I heard a scraping sound outside. We have done the downsizing thing and one of the benefits is that after 2 inches of snow the grounds crew are going around clearing walks and driveways. I'm starting to really like this new place.

I drive a school bus for a living and when schools were canceled due to the freezing rain in my area, I reached into my model kit storage and pulled out the 1/32 Chevy Nova that got from Atlantis back in July to build just to give myself something to do. I'm pleased that I made the call to buy it along with the 82 Camaro.
