First great grandbaby arrived this afternoon!

Don't have all the details other than he was delivered by the EMT's on the kitchen floor.

They went to the hospital which is 50 minutes away from their house and they sent her back home. Shortly after getting home labor really kicked in. The EMT's got there just in time to deliver him.

Sheesh! That had to be a new one for the EMT's but so cool that they're trained for everything. Congratulations to you and the EMT's. : )

How many do you have Bill if I may ask ?

14 at last count, one bike, and 2 trailers. One car is already there. Only 2 here are really running at the moment, should improve to 4 in a couple months.

For the logistics of the move to work as I'd originally planned, I need both trucks, the Neon, and the PT to make it across the country on their own, the Neon several times...but that's subject to re-think. I have lotsa work to do.    :D

That's a lot !  If you have any troubles around Laveen, Az.  give me a call.

Last trip, I went I-10 instead of I-40 to see what the road was like. The previous trip in a big U-Haul, I-40 was so rough in Oklahoma it damm near rattled my teeth out, and did a little damage from load-shifting.

Anyway, on the last trip on I-10, the Yotyto dumped her alternator in Phoenix, and I was stuck there a couple days while the dealership fixed it (low-mileage car, I took neither parts nor tools).

I thought about calling you to see if we could get together for a beer, but circumstances prevented same. :D

I'll be going 1-40 from now on though, as it's several hundred miles shorter.

Happy happy. The computer I store my photos in wouldn't restart after loading the newest version of my security gizmoprogrammothingy.

I just KNEW I shouldn't have done it while I was doing billing paperwork (that I always send progress photos with).

Locked up, wouldn't boot, couldn't get my photos of course.

But after some patient diddling and sweet-talking, she came back and seems to be humming along happily now.

Good girl. I think she just wanted some attention and reassurance.  B)

Now back to work.  :D

My high school freshman made the school baseball team!  Both of my sons them play/played rec league baseball and basketball through the years and I got sucked into assistant coaching.  I had them play all positions in baseball as I explained if you do and the coach knows he can count on you anywhere, you'll never sit out a game.  My oldest liked basketball moreso but went out for the high school team.  His 6'5" frame made plays look easy and the coaches took that as showboating and he didn't make the team.

Back to my freshman.....first year of kid pitch he was awful (Bob Uecker "JUST a bit outside" bad).  One of the assistant coaches worked with him and the last game of the season he got a relief appearance and did great.  Subsequent years he was the best starter his teams had.  He missed one full season from a fall breaking both ones in his lower (catching) arm.  He will be pitcher as well as first base this spring.  First base?  No rec league for the last two years so sixth grade year, the team had enough players to almost make two teams so some got games off....he was one of three that didn't.  He and three others on the team understood that some of the fielder throws to first may be off target so CATCH the ball and if you can THEN step on the base before the runner gets there!!

My oldest did make the eighth grade school basketball team (only lost one game all season due to questionable ref'ing).....youngest makes the high school baseball team.  Not sure where the talent came from as its certainly not his parents or grandparents?

I have the honor of being the Photographer for my Uncle’s wedding! I’ve been dabbling in photography for a while, and this will be my first official work. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about it!

This was last weekend, but we took my grandson rocket flying for the first time. We all had a whole bunch of fun. We're going again in a couple of weeks.

Doing the count down.

3rd and 4th generation rocket builders.

The launch site was crawling with kids and families. The people who organize, provide the specialized equipment, and set this up, do it all on a volunteer basis. It's free to anyone who shows up.

We have a couple more rockets in the works for next launch. I'll have to post them in Other Models.

A lot more involved than the old days when you lit them and ran.

Especially around here. This location is surrounded by water. Sometimes the rockets went swimming. Now they keep them under a thousand feet so they don't do that (very often). Given that all the hills are overgrown with very flammable vegetation. there are no independent sites that are suitable for launching rockets until you get out into the desert. Without this, we'd have no rocketry, and lots of brush fires.

Finally finished hammering through my cheap 3G cell provider's idiot upgrade maze (one that piggybacks service on a major network that's shutting down 3G) to get my free 4G mobile to stay connected.

The phone in question is only used for emergency voice calls like summoning wreckers or 911 or finding out my old friends are in the hospital.

I'll spare y'all the details, but the glitchy "customer service" stole many hours from the end of my life with unresponsive web pages, pages locking up, runaround "call this number 'cause we can't handle it from here", subsequent dropped calls, dropped callbacks, NO callbacks, and assorted annoyances stemming from techiedwerb incompetence on a truly grand scale.

But my new-oh-so-mo'-better device is finally on its way.

Be still my heart.

Well it wasn’t today, but a few days ago I bought my first RC car/truck.I went into one of the last remaining hobby shops on LI and saw this K&N RC desert pre runner truck on sale.So I said what the hell and bought it.The truck came all ready to run, except the battery of course.I paid under $200 for everything. My buddy helped me set it up,and I’ve been thrashing around with it ever since.I added some racing stickers of my own.The thing is so fast. For now, until I get used to it,I’ll keep it on the medium setting.I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to buy one of these.

Looks like fun. A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I used to race 1/8 scale on-road gas cars. They ran on something like 20% nitro and would go 75+ mph or so on the straightaway. We even had a racing series that ran on tracks in several mid Atlantic states. Was a lot of fun and met a lot of good people doing it.
