What made me happy is that I finally finished replacing the rockers, cab corners, and FIXING the frame on my Sliverado.  The guys are coming to put the bed back on Sunday.  Also installed new dual exhaust, shocks, and struts.

I'm still behind...... the other day I wanted to launch rockets again, but when I got to the range, there was a constant wind. ?
So instead I shot guns.  Pleased there is a place where we can go without having to pay.

The rifle is a Sears .22, my dad had it with his other guns in the safe, like an orphan.  He had a file card record, think he got it in 1936.  Or someone else (initials carved in the stock were not his) cut the barrel down, and butchered off the end of the stock.  I totally reworked the beautiful grained stock, slimmed down the shape to a true Sporter.  Also found the Ziess scope elsewhere in the estate and wondered why he had it, then I figured out the mount worked perfect, and the gun shop said it was sighted in already.  I'm pleased that I could hit the target.  No cops showed up either. ?

The entertaining scam of a text I got today. Long and repetitive about the US Customs having to detain my package due to a zip code problem. USPS can't deliver it until I click on a link 2 times and click ok or some such thing. Funny thing is that I don't have anything coming from out of the country or anything ordered at this time for that matter.

Anyway, I get a kick out of stupid emails and texts like this and glad I'm not an idiot to fall for this BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH.

Got the same text this morning. I knew it was a fake since my life isn't exciting enough to be having anything coming from out of country.

I had two Raleigh Choppers back in the day!  First was an orange on like yours. It got stolen from our basement overnight. I had to save and wait a year before I had the chance to buy a yellow one. I had it stored in my father’s garage and found out he gave it away!  That still hurts!

Facebook showed me this five year old photo. We were taking the grands to the same Trunk or Treat event, so we recreated the photo. Kids are a wee bit larger!

I've heard more stories about Choppers getting stolen, than parents purging your stuff.  Similar to models, come to think of it.

We have been having some awesome sunrise/sunsets lately.  The iPhone weather app showed no rain possible for about 10 days, zip zero nadda.  Girlfriend's weather app showed possible rain.  It's really coming down this evening, Arizona needs all we can get.  I camped out on the end of a Forest Service road on a bluff, and did a rain dance.  There was some sunset driving out.  Wow was it worth the very cool breeze early this morning, very pleased I got all the camping gear packed into the shed before it started raining.

My golden Lion, now with "cat's eyes" marbles.  Someone littered, found it under a bush at the end of my street.  Daughter hauled it home.  The front paws are broken off, finally have a big enough rock to keep him from doing a face plant.  Many years of new spray paint, like the Cadillac Ranch in a way. ?

Had 172 kids come to the house for Tricks and Treats. Didn't had out the goods though, my parents did. Our house is the only one on the block built by a private contractor so it was blessed with high basement ceilings but cursed with 15 front steps to the door. Every other house barely have any steps. So they had to caution all the little kids as they were goin' down the steps.

5-mile hike home after driving and dropping off the PT at the vintage car shop I work with. Saved the cab / Uber fare, got some aerobic exercise and some natural vitamin D after the sun came out. Found a decent 1/2" drive 3" impact extension on the side of the road too (last time I walked home, I found a nice pair of vice-grips).

I would have gone for a hike this weekend anyway, about the same length, so two birds, one stone, all that.

Changed clothes and drove back down, accomplished some pre-start work on the DeLorean, found out the battery is holding a full charge for several days, then snagged some 15" takeoffs good enough to road test the Silverado and get her on the transport truck, plus scrounged enough steel tube and angle from the scrap dumpster to build a rack on my car trailer to carry the '32 hot-rod body over the 550 Spyder.

Went to the sto later and they had lean ground beef $2.50/lb. off, so I had a thick burger on the grille for dinner.

I'm tired, I hurt, but it was a very productive day...especially for a 70+ year old geezer.   B)

Definitely sounds like you had a productive day. When all is said and done, I find those kinda days mean the most. ?

My wife was all fretting about our front yard appearance with every parent in the neighborhood coming to inspect! So I spent the afternoon getting rid of some weeds and trimming bushes along out front walk.

End of story? We had 7 kids come! A group of 3 little girls and a mixed group of 4 kids!  Not a parent in sight. And it was dark anyway!  I was sore this morning!

Although I was aware that the last two years there were no trick or treaters at my dad's house, hardly  any children in the neighborhood, I still put up Halloween yard decorations with lighting, mostly for myself. We technically had two individuals show up for a treat. One was my 40 yr old handicap cousin, without a costume and the other was a squirrel who figured I was handing out peanuts as usual.

As for your soreness, it was for a good cause, Happy wife, Happy life.. ?

I went to a local vacuum shop (still family owned, fixes anything) and walked out with this vintage saw.  The owner said the 93 year old man would be thrilled to get $50 for it.  I already have an old wormdrive Skil saw, don't need it, but it's hardly been abused.  Something about old tools, polished aluminum, obsolete design guard, and I sure wouldn't want to schlep this gym around all day!  Weird thing to be pleased about. ?

Cool tool. I understand entirely.

And it'll probably outlast 5 "modern" plastic ones with undersized motors and bearings.

Not entirely sure if whether I’m irked or pleased, but positively thinking, I am pleased. Mentioned a couple times on the one sentence game about some girl I liked at the school; and so today I found out she’s taken already. I have to admit I am disappointed, but that just means there’s someone else out there even awesomer. Just a matter of when I’ll meet her. And so that prospect pleases me.

Got confirmation that my new wheels for my demo truck have arrived. And my tires are officially en route from Iceland.

So after a few delays, I'll be picking my demo truck up at the end of the month. Then I immediately get to roadtrip it from Wyoming to home. Then will be designing some graphics for it.

On a couple of more weeks!

I'm stoked.

Got the '05 Neon and the '89 Celica ASC convertible moved down to the vintage car shop so's I can work on 'em inside where most of my tools are...and avoid the wrath of the county inspector on the 14th.

Neon's still in pretty good shape, and with the head rebuild shouldn't need too much more to be a daily again. I bought it from a "mechanic" who swore he'd just done the timing belt...so I overpaid a little because the job is kindof a PITA and I needed instant reliable wheels while I worked on my '89 GMC. Yeah, right. I only put 2000 miles on the Neon before it failed, bent every valve in it. The "mechanic" is nowhere to be found. So she's been sitting. Building a used head on the bench, and the head swap with timing belt, water pump, etc. is about two day's careful work.

EDIT: The cost of the work to fix the Neon, if I had to pay somebody else, probably exceeds the "value" of the car (which is why most of 'em are in junkyards now). But since I can return it to like-new for a few hundred in parts, good for at least another 100,000 miles with no major issues, what is the "value" of a clean little car that's fun to drive and gets great gas mileage?

Poor little Celica has really gone downhill though. LR brake was locked solid, wouldn't even break loose when I pulled her out of the hole with the GMC. Half a day of hammering on the drum with a lead hammer and flooding everything with penetrant got her loose, and my wrecker guy moved them both in one shot with no problems.

I got the Celica free from a girl who was afraid of it after it failed its emissions, didn't even want to try to fix it. A $28 part got it clean, and I commuted in it to an aviation job in South Carolina for a year before it dumped its water pump. The crank pulley seal was leaking lotsa oil too by that time, so I covered it intending to get back to it ASAP. Life happened in the meantime, and even though I was pretty good about starting and warming it up every few months, I got lax and the electronics all went south.

Anyway, both of 'em will make nice cars for somebody, and will go a long way towards financing the first round of upgrades on my AZ place.

Finally today, I decided to walk the several miles back down to the shop to pick up my Blazer and cover the Celica, as the canvas top has started leaking, and I don't want to ruin the nice interior. Rain forecast next few days.

Got home about an hour ago, tired and hurting, but pleased with another very productive day. Time for some salmon on the grill.

Probably going to take most of tomorrow off, but I have a full day's work Monday finishing the house spiff-up for the county re-inspection on the 14th.  B)
