Just some thing to brighten your morning and encourage Randy to get back to the bench. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKuNBa4uIpM  I shot this years ago at the Holman-Moody garage.  This is the Holman-Moody continuation car.  Holman-Moody owns all the original GT40 plans and a lot of OEM parts for the Mark II's.

Randy

I just stumbled onto this thread.

Having seen the GT40 at both the GSL last year and DSC in April, it was quite enlightening to see the building of the car on the forum.

I enjoyed meeting you in Arizona (DSC) and am looking forward to watching the progress of this exceptional model.

You are truly a "Craftsman" and have inspired me to mess with brass in future builds.

C'ya down the road, sir!

Hi Folks,

To Lioyd, Elyashiv, Tom, Mike C. , Phil,  Bruce, Jim and Steve a big thank you for taking the time to comment to you all !!!

Richard,  Thank you and you do realize that you can't rust the wood parts on the 'Woody" right:D

JC, Thank you  I received my first order From HRM and Harold's stuff is great!!

Hi Tim,  I feel the same about your's my friend!

Thanks for that pick me up Pete :) Wish I could have been there.

Ed,  You will not be disappointed.

Hey Joe,  Appreciate it !

Brian,  That is on the short list !

Chris,  Time is ticking and Danno put up the first post already !

John,   Weller 40 watt variable soldering iron,  mostly 'Novak Silver Solder' and 'Tix'  flux.

Dave,  Look forward to seeing you in April.

Curt, Thank you for that and I always look forward to seeing your builds! See you at DSC.

Art, Thank you buddy now get back to work !

Mike De,   As a one time Triumph  owner like you, I always wished I had Webers instead of the Strombergs on my GT6+ !

The ' Carb ' saga continues....

The HRM carbs that I ordered look awesome but I will use those on another project.   I really want the Webers to be the focal point when the rear clip is lifted on this car.

 Kind of like this ....

What follows is my attempt at a Weber IDA 48 carb.

Nickel silver and brass sheet stock and tubing used on these.

Reference pics,

Forum member Bill E. (Ace-Garageguy) thoughtfully provided a measured drawing in another thread about these carbs, Thanks Bill !

More following........

I completely ok with you not being human. I just hope the government never sees what you're doing here, or else they're going to lock you up in area 51, and then we'll never get to see this project finished!

Phenomenal work Randy. Your attention to detail is inspiring to other modelers. Where do you get your scale hardware? I used to use "Scale Hardware" but he has closed up shop.

Crapola......my eyes hurt from just looking at the pictures much less actually doing such fine work!

Could you make me a set of the Webers for one of my projects? I will pay up to $1.97 per carb!:D

Randy.... Holy smokes... I go away for a while and I come back to this. You have me so blown away at the detail going into these carbs that are completely scratch build in brass.  Very impressive my friend. It really has me considering boxing up the funny car and start collecting rocks. Love your work.
