  1. watched the whole Amazon series, enjoyed it a lot.
  2. My condolences on your mother's passing and hope your father is doing well in this difficult time. I fear that I will be having to deal with this issue with my own mother in the near future, she doesn't have covid yet but she is slowly failing because she refuses to get proper care.
  3. as a follow-up to Ace, motors which have commutators and brushes to create the magnetic fields that make the armature to spin, require maintenance because the brushes eventually wear down and have to be replaced.
  4. I'll be following when you post your WIP.
  5. Thanks for the interest, it's a phantom '78 Ranchero GT, some day it will get re-finished, (old)WIP thread here:
  6. pondering wheel choices...
  7. dang, I was hoping the web page was up so I could sponsor an award...
  8. that is a beaut! 50's fords were my first love, hope to see this at the next Desert Scale Classic.
  9. that would have been my concern also, however, there are many good options for 1/16 scale wheels on ebay and I think fireball may have a few..., and there is also the option or some 3d printed wheels and tires.
  10. we're living in wacky times, glad to hear you're hanging in there.
  11. Here is a link to photos I took at the fall Goodguys show in Arizona. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blunc/albums/72157720159630108
  12. great work on the Bird, I have a "backburner" project to build a replica of a '68 I used to own. I got some Fireball minilites to shoe the Bird with.
  13. The "Fish" carb is a real thing (I examined one that my late father was tinkering with). It had minimal moving parts and actually did double the fuel mileage of a full size motor home he installed it on and a 63 Biscayne 6cyl. It required special tuning of the engine and lacked cold weather compensation (choke), which in Arizona was not a big thing. My father was no slouch in the engineering area, I drove a 1950 F1 that he converted a 272 y-block to run on 4 cylinders...it was gutless and sounded like a model-T but it was reliable and got good mileage.
  14. reminds me of an old joke... If they make olive oil from olives, where would you think baby oil comes from?
  15. a very nice rendition of "The Little Deuce Coupe" I have one of these in my stash to do some extra detail on.
  16. unless you're using your voice in your own home (or writing notes on paper and then burning them), you should consider that nothing is "private"...and even then there is no guarantee.
  17. even if you don't build it box stock, that thing is loaded with some parts perfect for swapping.
  18. so..., if I type in "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH", will it enter a naughty word?
  19. if you haven't already...consider getting rid of the front turn signals, it would clean up the nose a bit.
  20. nice builds, I am really need to get me some of these, they look like they have great potential for bashing.
  21. I enjoy most of the shows mentioned, however, it sounds like Foose is being hated on based on what is seen on Overhaulin, and sounds like you haven't really taken a good look at his other work (and that's okay... you can hate on anyone you like). However...the thread is about "Foose kits", I was most disappointed that the Impala kit did not replicate the award winning "Imposter" build. Consider that Foose is a Ridler award winner for good reasons, one of the reasons is that he has the respect of other builders. Iron Resurrection and the Martin shop do great work and have talented builders, that just makes them different from other media show builders (not necessarily better than all the rest), and there are a whole host of other car craftsmen that I didn't see mentioned here. As has already been said, it's a matter of taste...beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  22. the red circle and below are the battery that unscrews, the kit I bought included another battery that can be charged separate from the airbrush.
  23. I ordered mine with an extra battery
  24. after a little consideration, I may add a small accumulator to this if the pump pulses cause painting issues.
