It was offered to me as part of an estate close out of a Corvette model collector. The headlamps swivel open, The tinted top is removable and can be stowed in the carpeted rear compartment. Gramps46 Posted April 30, 2020 Author Share Posted April 30, 2020 And here is the last of the recent Corvette additions. It is a 1982 Corvette C3 T Top from Franklin Mint. While nicely done it doesn't have the same level of detail as the ZR1 posted above. The headlamps do not open but the tinted T Tops are removeable. Ace-Garageguy Posted May 1, 2020 Share Posted May 1, 2020 I'm not much into diecasts in general, but occasionally I'll spring for a damaged rebuildable of a subject that's not available in styrene, and that I have a particular fondness for. I'd been after a bullet-nose Stude for some time, and the Flintstone resin kit was disappointing. I haven't seen any of these damaged in years, so when this nice-but-undocumented 1/24 Danbury Mint '51 came up a while back, in the color we had when I was a kid, I jumped on it. It's the most I've paid for a diecast to date, but as I saw much of the USA and Canada looking backwards out that rear wraparound window, I figured why not. I think I'm going to write it up as it's own clean up and improve post. It has enough grunge to warrant an article. And fix that missing white stripe on tire the easy way. Anytime they made a second color, it usually was a little more"special" or limited. You can find the color variations in the listings at diecast.org. Franklin mint also did the same car in 2-tone blue. I have that one I in a friend's collection I'm selling for his widow. Each one is very nice. My wife said there were more on the shelf, so I am thinking of going and getting another one and adding it to the projects I will probably never get to.
