Don’t get me wrong, I like building vehicles that are the stuff of dreams and legends too - things that are the focal point of a collection. This isn’t one of them, of course, but it has its place. Agree that more SUVs should be kitted, but aspirational vehicles or ones that can be modified with aftermarket parts are more likely to sell better due to broader appeal. It gives me hope that they'll produce something later on that I will be interested in. It looks dead on regarding proportions. I would love a model of a new Lincoln MKC, MKZ, MKX or whatever they are calling them now though. Cadillacs - besides the Escalade. I'm only interested in the Santa Fe because my wife wants one. I did find an 07 Ford Edge 1/43 diecast that I dismantled and painted to match my real one, but it came from UK. I have diecasts of the Maserati and Lambo SUVs for sale on ebay and seems like buyers are staying away from them in droves. Not sure they would sell as kits either. IDK anymore what would sell though. Last kits I've built are Lancia Stratos Stradale (for a friend), 59 Ford (Revell) that I hope to get back to come spring. too cold in my building, plus I've been selling a diecast collection and that has taken my modeling time. I liked the Lancia, but not sure I would have bought it myself. I did do a Muira last year in amongst the bunch of stuff I built. I guess the mfrs arent' willing to take a chance and fail with kits of modern things. Not sure why they would even decide to do the Santa Fe really. I've built their Shelby Cobra Mustang - simple but well engineered. I keep hoping Academy will make a kit of Hyndai's upmarket Genesis G80, since I own one. ? Hyundai is the one that footed the bill to pay for it, Academy is just doing what the manufacturers have always done - sell some off as kits to get some added profit. While they weren't quite promos, Ford is who footed the bill for the Mustang, Ford GT & 2017 Raptor Build n Plays that they were giving away at the Detroit International Auto Show, and then Revell later sold as "kits" to the unwashed hobby masses. The taxes are on so called fossil-vehicles but electric ones don't have normal taxes or purchase tax so if the wrangler was electric it would have cost something like 73-74 000$ The Hyundai Kona is actually more expensive in the US than here? It is of no wonder that I almost never see a Santa Fe or any of the other so called fossil Hyundai models around here but I see a lot of the electric ones and know a few that have bought the Ioniq or the Kona.
