Venom Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) *Post up to four(4) pictures, as long as they are all the same body style, of what you think is the best looking, greatest body style ever made. *You can pick a car AND a truck, stock or slightly custom, (nothing so custom that it’s basically a one-off), vintage or modern, and from any country. *Has to have a production of at least 3 units. ***If you change your mind, you can show an alternate body style later in the thread, but only once please. EDIT: For those who post car descriptions but not a photo, or a list of more than one body style and no photo, I will gladly search out photos myself and post what I think are good representations of your choices, and if you have a list I’ll pick ONE from off the list... and if anyone beats me to it then that’s great too. Pictures are really the point of this topic, even if it’s a style everyone’s seen a million times. I’ll start it up with my choice ... 1959 Chevy Impala/Biscayne (hardtop or convertible) Edited April 22, 2021 by Venom
NOBLNG Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I must say that the roof does somewhat detract from the looks slightly, as that convertible is absolutely gorgeous!

My folks didn't replace that car until 1968 (with a new Sequoia Green Impala--they went from their ugliest car ever to their best car ever in one jump). My vote would have to go to the C2 Corvette. If you limit me to a specific year, I'll take 1967. No pics necessary--we all know what they look like.

I absolutely LOVE the roof!... But I’m sure in time there will be enough posts to see how many different ideas there are on what a “great” body style is. Edited April 20, 2021 by Venom
Tom Geiger Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 One of the coolest fast backs ever! The largest glass panel ever used at the time! Need I say more?

Quick GMC Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Hands down. Exactly 3 were made, 2 are left, if I remember correctly.

Ace-Garageguy Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 If I had unlimited funds, but could have only one "special" vehicle, the Ford GT40 Mk I would be my choice. Even a good replica would be fine (though I prefer the wider hips of the slightly later Mk I, as shown in the two upper photos).
NOBLNG Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) I agree with the C2 Corvette...I wouldn’t change a thing. The back half of the ‘Cuda is beautiful...but the front could have been better? This is one of my all time favourites. Edited April 20, 2021 by NOBLNG

TransAmMike Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 This is a topic that could go on forever. All the above (well maybe...some "exotics" for me are a bit over the top) are great looking cars and there will be a lot of opinions. For me, there are just too many great looking cars it's too difficult to choose one. It would probably be easier to pick best looking by catagory (ie: muscle, sports, stc.)

JollySipper Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 McLaren M6GT It was the basis for the best television hero car ever, the Coyote X on Hardcastle and McCormick.....
Richard Bartrop Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Lots of stiff competition, but it I have to pick one, I'm going to have to go with the Lamborghini Miura.

WOW!... yes I remember the Coyote in the show... I was about 12 years old. Thought it was the coolest car ever, but my uncles were always saying it was some kind of kit car... I never knew it was a real deal, basically. The color on that McLaren is the absolute perfect color for that body. Sweet! Edited April 20, 2021 by Venom
drodg Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 One of my favorites is the 53-54 Studebaker. Here is a picture of my dad in 1953 when he got his new one.

If you watch closely, the car has 4-lug hubs in some scenes, in others it has 5.

IMHO, two of the most influential body styles of the last half of the 20th Century were the '53 Stude and the '63 Riviera.
