RSchnell
My rendition of Revell's '49 Merc wagon. Pretty much built OOB with the exception of putting a flathead from my parts bin in place of the Caddy mill. The body color is Tamiya TS-33 dull red with TS-13 clear, then sanded & buffed. The wood is Humbrol 63 enamel. I painted the wood and woodgrain decals with Tamiya clear yellow to give a varnished effect.

Smitty
You’ve done a great job on your Merc! The finish is outstanding! I would have done that engine swap too. The wood trim looks very nice, and I like how you picked out those chrome bolt heads.

espo
Amazing looking paint finish. The wood trim looks great. I like the stock Flathead idea.
RSchnell
Thanks for the kind words everyone! I normally don't photograph much when I build, but have recently started doing more.
Smoke Wagon
Beautifully done. The woodie decals can be a little tricky to get set in the right place, you did a perfect job of it. Excellent work cut and buffing your paint. Funnily enough, I have a similar build going on (slowly). I went with the flathead from AMT’s ‘49 Mercury kit, and Tamiya TS-11 for color.
TonyW
That's a stunner. The wood and the paintwork look really good together. It kind of glows, like the colors in the period advertising.

I was thinking of going with the TS-11 for mine, but am trying to use up cans I have in stock before I go buy anymore! That shade of maroon looks very nice with the wood on yours. carrucha
Cool wagon. Good work on the wood. Nice using the flathead instead of the Caddy motor.
