J Flame  AKA Dr hacker Mr slice

I've been out of the build scene for about 13 years now and I was always telling people if it don't flow it don't go but I tell you everyone in this is very meticulously built I really love the VW van but I can't choose a favor they're all hell of a builds

Hi James!

The fun part is you don't have to choose LOL! Thanks for the comments.

Hi Dan!

Thank you. I had fun building it. As much as when I did it for the first time in the late 60's...

Wow!  Outstanding work on them all.  I love that streamliner.

Hi Bruce!

Thank you. It won a few trophies, but above all, was a fun challenge to build!

A very impressive and varied collection. Im impressed with your build quality and jealous you got so many built. ?

My favorite is the gold roadster. I love the subtle flames. Could I ask how you did them?

Hi Jeff!

Thanks for the compliments.

As to the flames, I used Tamya's LP Clear orange, shot with my airbrush over a Lazy Modeler mask. The effect was great, but upon clearing over the flames, the clear accentuated their contrast with the base color, which was contrary to what I was looking for. Too dark...

So, I just dusted the sides of the body, over the flamed section, with the same Tamya's metallic gold spray-can lacquer that I painted the car with. It "buried them", and I got the "ghost" effect I was looking for.

Hi Dan!

Thanks. I always had a soft spot for looooong 33 Fords. Had two 1/1 myself, and their souvenir sticks. See the last one below...

Extremely impressive body of work, each one is as breath-taking as the next one.  You are indeed a styrene artist. I am especially intrigued by the '58 T-Bird. The roof looks like it may have been liberated from the late-model Cougar kit - is that close?
