Nacho Z Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 I would like to share my recently completed Fujimi Ferrari F355. Overall, not the greatest kit ever produced. The fit of the side scoop inserts and the panel on the rear of the car was not good. A lot of work was needed to make them presentable. The glass flat out sucked, poorly molded and the fit of some pieces was enough to make you want to leave them off. The interior is for a 348 and not a F355. The window trim molded to the body is incorrect for a F355. However, at the end of the day it makes a nice shelf model if you take your time and put the work into it. I have added a link to the WIP thread. Here are some bullet points of the build. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking! Painted in OPI "Chopstix and Stones" fingernail polish. Cleared with Tamiya TS Clear Blue Splash Paints Interior Tan Photo-Etch from Acu-Stion Badges from T2M 11
Zoom Zoom Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Nice job, great color. I lived thru the same issues building mine somewhere around 2001. Saw one at "The Quail" event in 2000 that inspired me because of the aftermarket wheels it had. I was able to replicate those and lived w/the incorrect interior and sort of fixed exterior stuff. If I did it today it would be even better but I'd still gripe about Fujimi doing such a slapdash update to the 348 and calling it a day. I have another coupe and convertible to build...maybe.
espo Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 The color is so deep looking, really like the color and finish. Nice looking interior and like the wheels and tires.
SpikeSchumacher Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 John, that is just beautifully done!
Roger U Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Beautiful model. Cleanly built with great paint .
kelson Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Even though Fujimi cut some corners on this kit, your build looks fantastic!!?
Pierre Rivard Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Careful, wet paint! Well it looks like it's still wet, and gorgeous!
karbuildr Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Despite the difficulties you encountered your build is very well done. I really like the color, very high gloss and deep appearance.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Very nice, I love that color on it!!

Thanks, Bob! I’m no kit historian, nor do I understand the intricacies of what goes into what subjects get kitted, but I would think a F355 would deserve a legitimate attempt at its own kit. 9 hours ago, Jim B said: That's one great looking Ferrari. Mittagskind Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Wow, great job. This color and polishing is fine.

NOBLNG Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) Absolutely beautiful John. That paint combination is something else…and a nice refreshing break from red.?? Edited October 1, 2023 by NOBLNG

jaymcminn Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Fantastic build of a great subject. The 355 is one of my favorite Ferraris... it's a shame Fujimi didn't do right by it.
Funkychiken Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 It's a deep an beautiful blue, another smooth build!
