  1. The backing plate goes on the other side of the brake drum (on real cars). Of course, you may assemble it any way you wish.
  2. a very worthy project, I like a few of their builds enough to add them to my "to do" list. I have gathered some parts to build the '34 Plymouth from one of their episodes.
  3. I agree on the embossing powder, looks great.
  4. I am quite envious of the tools in your photo. I need to figure out how to make some wheel sleeves for some 1/32 scale projects and don't have the space nor the funds for proper tools (lathe/mill).
  5. welcome to the forum. My tip is to read through the Q&A thread and the Tips and Tutorials thread, an amazing amount of good tips there. If you have questions about anything not covered there already, then ask away.
  6. used a 50% off coupon at Micheal's today, got the 67 Coronet.
  7. from personal experience (in Arizona), the city will tell you that if the leak is between the city main and your house that you have to deal with it. I suggest you deal with it fast because that water bill will get huge real fast, I know that from experience too...my front yard got real spongey right where the grass was greenest.
  8. I never have nothing to biatch about, I usually have something to biatch about...but it's usually because of some entitled youngster "on my lawn".
  9. I barge into chat rooms all the time, but like faceborg they can eat up your time.
  10. Is a "preview post" button really needed now? The posting function of the "new look" seems to me to be WYSIWYG, you just need to review what you wrote before you click the submit reply button.
  11. I guess this needs repeating AGAIN. This is a free site that Gregg is paying for with time and his funds. Who are we to make demands regarding something that is supplied to us gratis? Gregg has given us fair warning in fairly plain words that he is manning the "Ban Hammer" and how he plans to use it. Posting content to a free site doesn't give you any right to make demands of the site owner (unless otherwise specified in the Terms of Use). If anyone thinks this is a personal attack, they can take it up with my trash folder.
  12. had no problem getting the chatroom window.
  13. .....And a nice MGB under your seat. I prefer my TR4 but an MGB will do in a pinch. someday, you will whine about trivial things... I may not be alive to see it, but I could put money on it.
  14. hmmm, when I click the drop down arrow next to my username there is a list of options which include "my activity" and "followed content", I haven't checked them yet but that may b e what you're looking for.
  15. you always hear more about "road rage" than "road bliss", that's just the way it is...
  16. wait, we have a chat room?
  17. actually, a little humidity cuts down on static charges but it's not good for porous materials like unsealed wood and drywall.
  18. just about any time you rub/scrape two surfaces together, at least one of them will develop a static charge if the materials are not plain glass or ceramic (I'm sure there is a big list but I'm not going to list it here). plastic items are the worst, the human body can carry a static charge of 40K volts and not even know it till you discharge onto a grounded object and you feel that SNAP. car painters tricks work for models...wet down your work area if you can, I see my painter buddy wet down the spray booth as prep before painting many times. don't wear anything polyester when prepping to paint or cleaning. don't work near an AC vent or fan.
  19. it's amazing how fast eye tissue heals...when it heals at all.
  20. nice custom work, never seen anyone use a Camaro grille on a vette till now. I thinks it works well on your build.
  21. well done sir, I enjoyed watching the build.
  22. there are lots of builders here that "pay it forward"...some of them are even rivet counters.
  23. something I had suggested in the door hinge thread, have you considered installing the hinge before the door/trunk has been cut out? it would mean some earlier interior tub/chassis fit checking but may eliminate later door/trunk alignment issues.
