  1. yeah, I know... but at least I finally get to start working on something.
  2. Here is a 25 year old WIP I'm going to see about getting done in time for the upcoming Desert Scale Classic... don't hold yer breath though, "honey-do projects" may derail that plan.
  3. please send some of your winter here. we've had 90 deg days already.
  4. wow, those handicap parking spaces are twice as large as the ones where I live.
  5. have you test fitted any of the chrome trim yet? it would be a shame to have fitment problems during final assembly.
  6. I would suggest #0000 steel wool instead of scotchbrite, I think you will need to try it on a spoon first to see which works best.
  7. now the scammers have yer number, who knows what else they have? (just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not after me)
  8. if you don't stay within the lines on the highway you might get a ticket...
  9. I have the Rolls Royce version of that kit series, it's one of the few sources of 1/32 vinyl slicks without using slot car tires.
  10. I have a six year old Canon EOS that I use with the lens that came with the camera. the best amature advice I have is use a tripod and the self-timer on your camera, this will reduce focus issues caused by activating the shutter. if shooting indoors, try to have two sources of diffuse light to reduce shadows and turn off flash on the camera.
  11. I see that we have gotten to the "fun" section of this discussion. Is there a possibility that everyone can adjust to the fact that one persons version of fun will have more rivets in it than some other persons version of fun? (and just quit telling us that you only build for fun...we get that already)
  12. that may depend on the vintage... and before you get started on Depends, well...just don't.
  13. wow, it's another episode of: "I just want to build for myself and have fun - VS - I just want to build for myself and have fun...and make it as much like a real car as I can."
  14. got a refund, but really wanted the 1/32 vette at the price I won the bid at.
  15. that's quite a "batty" use for a tank.
  16. did the seller send you a 1/32 scale Corvette kit when you bid/won a 1/25 scale snap together Corvette kit? it was just the opposite for me.
  17. would it matter if I mentioned that the carbs are on backwards?
  18. funny you should mention the 67 Galaxie, I did a little photochopping a while back but can't afford to pay the prices that 67 Galaxies are going for....not even a glue bomb. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61461&page=3#entry871309
  19. I second your choice for Ridler, I've been following this build for a while. I think it would be interesting to see the results of simlar body mods to other mid 60's car marques.
  20. I agree with the opinions regarding the windshield, with all the other curves you've added to the body the flat windshield seems out of place.
  21. well...there is a model kit of an Excaliber but not that particular body style. I seem to recall there was a build thread here about a 1/12 scale version. You could kitbash something similar by starting with a Mercedes 540 and melding in a Buick GN...
  22. I have an old dremel minimite (so old it used Ni-Cads) that the battery pack failed on, so I got a 5v wall pack and converted it to a corded unit. It still works great and it's smaller that a regular sized dremel.
  23. what kind of front tires are ya looking for? I've been accumulating 1/16 scale kits...I'm fairly certain I won't be using skinny stock tires on some of the AMT kits.
