  1. I remember the Mountain Dew Regal and the Gatorade Indy cars kicking my rump royally when I was young. The Regal was due to the decals and the Indy car because of fiddly construction that I just did not get at that age. I got both of them in the last several years and re-built them. Indy car Regal
  2. Unfortunately, there are no foolproof ways to apply paint. I once used a brand of primer. The same brand's paint and then the same brand's clear. All was well until I applied the clear, and then it looked like the first picture that started this thread. The worst part about it was that it was a race car and the clear was to seal in the decals. I was able to sand the alligator skin down and re-apply the paint, but it was 3 stressful days.
  3. Looks great! The weathering is quite convincing.
  4. Great work! The paint and the details look real sharp.
  5. Great job! I wasn't sure what to make of the paint when I was reading the description, but it is gorgeous.
  6. Great work Dann. Absolutely stunning!
  7. They finally got their sixth, but the first three were won under the cloud of one of the most egregious cheating scandals in professional sports. Also interesting to read that this was the lowest rated Super Bowl in over a decade. Looks like a lot of people didn't even bother to tune in.
  8. Snow is a pain, but is sure looks pretty, particularly when it sticks to the trees.
  9. Wow, that's some snow! It looks like you got in one snow what we have gotten all winter so far.
  10. Great job! It took a few seconds to get used to the concept, since this was not what I was expecting, but it looks really cool.
  11. Great job Jonathan! You will have to let us know what kind of luck you have securing royalties from those using your patented modifications.
  12. Looks very nice. Great job integrating the resin nose!
  13. Both of them look great!
  14. Both Scouts look gorgeous, Jeff. I am particularly keen on the blue one.
  15. Very cool! You did a great job executing all of the details.
  16. Great job Bruce!
  17. We have gotten several snows, but they don't stick around very long as the temps go above freezing afterwards. The problem is that with all of the freezing and melting, the roads are taking a beating. They were really, really bad to begin with and now they are much worse. The cars are taking a pounding. A lot of us look like drunks weaving around the roads to try and miss the potholes. Also not looking forward to the "Polar Vortex". Growing up we just had cold weather. Now it seems that the weather people have to name everything to make it all seem new and relevant to push their narrative of extreme weather.
  18. I read an article the other day that some Samsung smart TV owners are dealing with and it makes this seem rather insignificant. They are watching their show and then a CBS news app opens itself up automatically. Then the TV goes blank. The owner has to turn the TV on and off a number of times before the problem goes away. Samsung has known about this since September and has not fixed it. The worst part of it is that Samsung has a contractual agreement with CBS to put this app on the TV's and it cannot be deleted.
  19. Looks real good. Applying decals over a flat paint is a tall order.
  20. It does look pretty sharp. Some of his Dew cars have looked really cool as well.
  21. You did your due diligence, I wouldn't worry about it Kurt. I don't know how many different threads there are on Gravity Paints and they seem to keep multiplying like rabbits.
  22. Great job! I just bought a couple of Ebbro Tyrrell's from the early 70's. Looking forward to building a couple of race cars that Jackie Stewart drove.
  23. Looks great! That is my favorite model of the Impalas.
