  1. I saw this piece at the LLC NNL and it is even more stunning in person! Great build.
  2. I think it was all that gaudy stuff that made me want it back then. It pop'd! Stock was just too boring for me, and still is, but those crazy parts and loopy decals where just the right ticket for a 13 year old! Thanks for the neat and colorful review!
  3. Lights, lights, lights! You guys are going to be unstoppable now!
  4. Considering it followed the Maverick, I would say Poppy Red
  5. Yes, she was featured in Hot Rod Magazine. That car left an impression on me and I have been wanting to duplicate it in kit form.
  6. You might want to take this to private messages as there is no selling or buying permitted on this board.
  7. Oh yeah, I could use another Beetle!
  8. He needs to come out to California!
  9. Nice! Really nice work on both, but that corrected Horse, what a stunner! Funny how AMT deemed it close enough and no one cared back then. Now, it would be a hanging party after them!
  10. I heard he got the idea for the Munster coach after talking to Tom Daniel. And I have always been curious on why it looks more like a Daniel's design than a Barris one.
  11. I just have soft spot for Pacers and Gremlins. Our neighbor bought one new and we all called it the moon car! Used to ride with him and his kids to get Jack In The Box, Good times! And this one looks flat out cool!
  12. Nice and proper! I look forward to this build
  13. Yes, MPC decided to ride the craze and these kits where converted into monster trucks. I remember seeing them on the shelves, but I wasn't a big monster truck fan, so I passed. Even Revell decided to join the fray and butchered up some of their pick ups for it. Hope this is the only Monster Truck re-issue before they convert them back!
  14. I was about 6 and it must have been around '73 or '74. After my uncle and aunts noticed that I was always looking at my uncle's car mags and messing with his models, they bought me a Revell Snap Together Volkswagen Bug and I was hooked. I must have built and torn down that kit a million times! Sadly, one day it came up missing, and after days of looking, I found it in a large potted plant. My aunt had found it after the family German Sheppard had chewed it up and she threw it into the plants to hide it from me. Yup, I was pretty bummed, but, more kits came later!
  15. Well, I do believe it is pinned in the Diorama section, but, just in case, here it is. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/27452-michael-paul-smiths-incredible-dioramas-and-models/ I guess I should not assume that you would know that, but, given your high posting count, I assumed you would have been around here longer than me and would have known this. But, there I go assuming once again. No offended, just tired of the senseless bickering over old stuff.
  16. That's funny, I am doing the same thing! LOL!
  17. This guys work has been around for some time now, the article is three years old! And once again someone found it and posted it here, again. Someone posted their feelings about it and someone didn't like their feelings. Now all feelings are out. All for a three year old article. Nice. More coffee.
  18. Wow, totally new box art. Glad they include the decals for the original version. Bummer about the vinyl top
  19. Whoops! You are correct. I am thinking of the Dodge Chargers, but, even they had stock style setups. And the Rams AF/X car had a factory style setup as well.
  20. Nice job! I remember those on the shelves!!
  21. Don't forget this version. I believe this is when the first mods where done to the kit and then this....
  22. The axle looks pretty narrow here.
