I've built this kit a couple, three times? I still have the last one from the ProShop series. I'm not a rivet counter, but it looks good to me and builds like most every kit I ever built.

No I didn't, its just every time I see a period photograph or advertisement, trucks don't have wide whitewalls. I don't think truck buyers bought the premium puncture resistant tires for work trucks. They bought what could be afforded or what was available, especially once tires were being rationed during the war.

I would have never thought a year ago I would be collecting or even looking forward to 1/64 NASCAR diecast. Our Targets and Wal-Marts have been slow to get new releases, but one Wal-Mart finally filled the pegs with all nine of the Authentics 2021 first wave the All Star Race cars. I picked the two I wanted. The next wave has been released, it's race winners. I don't know when they'll hit our stores.

I went to those websites this morning. Here are two screen grabs, I can't find the discounted prices you've mentioned. As far as Rustoleum is concerned, I'll grab a can today and pull a newer kit from my shelf and give it a test spray. I've tried the spoon method. I'm not sure the newer kits are using the same formula of plastic as the spoons. I'm pretty sure the new kits aren't using the same plastic formula as the old kits

Same price as my "local" Hobbytown USA primer is about $10 each if I buy at least ten of them.

My local (other side of Wichita) hobby store has Tamiya spray paints for about $8 and primer for $10. You're prices are for bottle paints. I'm not big on airbrushing. I haven't tried Rustoleum primer in years. The last time I tried was a disaster. Crazed plastic and the paint seems to take forever to dry. I've watched hpiguy use these paints and so many times I've seen his models with crazed paint surfaces. In Wichita, yes. I haven't tried those, but they contain MEK and can and has crazed the plastic.

I miss that coupon. KIts at 40% off occasionally great. I used the coupon on the overpriced building accessories, paint, glue, cases, etc. Those never go on sale. Now that Testors is done, Tamiya is ultra expensive, and nearly unavailable and my Hobby Lobbys never restock the Mr. Surfacer primer. I'm not sure I'm going to continue building kits. I can't seem to find a canned primer that's safe for plastic. I've used up all my old Plasti-Kote sandable primer inventory and that was the best primer I've ever used. I know there's acrylics and I have an airbrush, but not a dedicated area for the equipment, painting, and clean up. It's such a pain in the derriere.

Time to complete. It seems every time I'm ready to start a project, I'm on extended hours at work or like I was from 2016 to 2019 working in Canada. Right now I'm working 76 hours a week. The pay is great, but I just don't have any extra time.

Well, I didn't get these today, I've had the Matt DiBenedetto hauler for over two months and had to wait for the car to come from eBay. I happened to see the Ryan Blaney Body Armor hauler at Wal-Mart last week and because I already had the car, I picked it up. Now I've got five 1/64 NASCAR haulers and four loose cars. I put three of the haulers in cases because their cars are loose and were easy to display. The other two, Hailie Deegan and and Bubba Wallace remain boxed and the cars in their blisters. Never thought I'd be collecting 1/64 again. At the time I got the hauler the car was hard to find. One finally popped up for a BIN on eBay. I already had the car from a previous purchase trying to get the Advance car. I wasn't expecting this hauler to be released. What's cool is Ryan won in this livery at Atlanta today! All of them in cases. I wonder if they'll release the Kobe Bryant Body Armor livery in a hauler. If they do, I have the car! The other two haulers and cars. I've had these since before Christmas and I think I may have already posted them, but seeing how I talked about them, I thought I'd share.

These trucks are great aren't they! The first time I saw one, I just had to have it. That jail bar front end! I picked up one for cheap a couple months ago. I'd been hunting one for awhile. Just missed one for $15.00 that was perfect. My phone wouldn't bid. No one bid and I lost out. I picked up the one I got for a better deal because the shipping was cheaper and the bid was only a few dollars more. If I could change one thing it would be the whitewalls.

Hmm, interesting. I had never customized 1/64 diecasts. I've seen yours and they look great! I'm still not committed to customizing but I have started detailing little things like trim, lights, wipers, etc. I picked up these Matchbox over the last couple of weeks from our Dillons (Kroger). They're super cheap $.76, come in a box(it's not recloseable) instead of a blister pack. I only picked the ones that appealed to me. The Red MB 220 was not of the cheap variety. That one satisfied the little kid in me because I had one like it over fifty years ago. As I said I did a bit of detailing just to please my eye. I've since added detail that I missed on the blue MB wagon. I also had a couple of loose Hot Wheels and added a bit of pain to them too. Wow! That MGB GT is out of scale! More cars out of scale, but they fit the box! I had to paint some bumpers "chrome". Apparently that's where they're saving some money. I can live with grey, but black, or white when I know it should be chrome, just won't cut it.

Excellent build, paint and details are spot on! Not my personal favorite for color combinations, but maybe it looks better in person.

Impressed I am! You have been quite the busy beaver! I've been building for the same amount of time, but not nearly as productive. I never had the funds or the talent to build in great amount until I was in my late forties. Then I didn't have the space, but I did collect. Now I have the space the money, a little talent but no time. I've got about 100 plus built and about 250 to build.

Definite Fail for me. The wheels were an immediate turn off, but the Camaro taillights were just hideous.

I have been slowly and I mean slowly working on this. I cleaned everything in Wesleys and then commenced to assembly. I also at this point started the work to fill the Camaro identification in the front. This is a better picture of what I'm building. It's hard to find a good picture on the net of the third gen ASA or late model Firebird front ends. There always low resolution from far away or side profiles. Here's where I'm currently at with the body and hood. Some work with additional plastic strips for better edges. I put some primer on it to give me a better visible feel. I need to add more filler below the leading edge of the bumper. The hood needs some more filler, a center peak the center trailing edge cut and then two new creases from the aft corners to the center.
