SOME CURRENT ROUND 2 INFO TODAY...
unclescott58 replied to AC Norton's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I got the latest Johnson Smith's catalog in the mail yesterday. Sad to say, they carry none of the cool stuff like the above anymore. They mostly carry political stuff, tee shirts and other things. Seen on TV stuff. New age books. And one page of adult stuff that I was a bit offended by. Stuff I would not want a minor to see. The innocence of my youth is gone! So is the fun of the Johnson Smith's catalog. -

It just arrived! And it looks great! A Vulcan and a Buick Riviera. Tough to beat. Man am I a geek ?! And proud of it. -

IMO, that is one ugly car. But. A nice save. I like what you did with it.
-
P.S. I also like Ford's recent GT better than the Vette shown above. Ford still captured the essence of the old GTs and GT40s in the present car pretty well. Like Chevrolet's present Sting Ray catching the essence of past Corvettes. The mid-engine Vette looks too much any other mid-engine car. Kind of boring to me. Is it another Ferrari? Lamborghini? Acura NSX? What makes it a Corvette?
-
From what I can see, the mid-engine Vette does not look as pretty as the present Sting Ray. The present Corvette is the best looking Corvette since they took away chrome bumpers after '73. This new one? I just don't know? I'm too poor for Chevrolet to design Vettes for me. So I guess it doesn't really matter in the long run.

Wow! Check out that head of hair. Not one hair out of place. I like his taste in models. I need a Big Baron for my collection someday. -
Very nice. As normal.
-
I love the first model, in particular shown. Beautiful!

Had to pull these up, and look at them again. Anybody know of any we've missed? I'd like to see more. -

Wow! I normally like Darryl Starbird's stuff. Sorry ?. That one does not do anything for me. -
I've never owned, but have always loved the Cord 810 - 812. I think I have owned and built just about every model kit of car. Except AMT's 1/12 scale version. I own one. I just haven't gotten around to building yet. Hands down my all favorite automobile.

Ooo! I like it! Something you made? Or something one can go out and buy? I want one. -

I've seen that one before. Isn't that cool? I love the Petty Turbine/Nascar Car and matching Daytona Transport done up like that. And Sven's models are all that nice. He has done several other cool and beautiful concepts over the years. I've drooled over his work on his website more than a few times. -

Tough finding a 1/25 scale car small enough in the back of the truck.
