  1. Built the exact same kit last summer. I did not use any paint on mine. Nor did I do any rigging. I also built Academy's 1/1000 scale version for comparison to Polar Lights 1/1000 starship Enterprise kit. Because I had so much fun building those two, I also purchased Academy's 1/400 scale Titanic. In last year I haven't gotten as far as I would like with that kit. The kit comes with rigging, and I'm more than a little intimidated by that.
  2. Beautiful! Both of them.
  3. A nice Ed.
  4. Is this built with the new reissue? Or an original kit? It is gorgeous. I can't wait to get my hands on one. I hope that someone will show us what this kit looks like unbuilt too. A good kit review with photos of the unbuilt contents of the box. And it would be nice to know if there is anything to watch out for in building this kit? It would also be interesting to see the above with a 1/20 or 1/18 scale model car or truck, for comparison. Will it look good behind my MPC 1/20 1970 AMX?
  5. What scale? And what's the cost? Any more photos or info on this one?
  6. Very nice. One has to love a Red Mustang ragtop.
  7. A very sharp looking Willys.
  8. Ghost of the Red Baron has been high on my want list for over 40 years now. I hope it comes back to haunt my collection soon.
  9. I just finished building Revell's '68 Mustang within the last month. Despite what everybody says, I think it's a very nice kit overall. The metal can barely be seen on the finished kit. And the screws don't bother me at all. They're a lot smaller, and less obvious than the screws on a lot of old kits from the 1960's. Everything went together and looked just fine in the end.
  10. I too want to see the above kits brought back. Not the best kits in the world. But, I love the subjects. Another old kit I would love to see if they have the dies for and hopefully see reissued is below.
  11. The X-15 is very cool. Always has been. Always will be. Another way to earn your astronaut wings back in the 1960's.
  12. Is the kit above, plastic or metal?
  13. Wow! Stunning job. I love these odd cutaway kits. I'm impressed Hugh.
  14. I've got a thing about '32 Fords. I want one of the above. That and the All-Stars '60 Thunderbird.
  15. As noted before, I brought Tim's latest book shortly after it came out. And also as before, I liked the book right away. I read the book right away, and have pulled out the book several times. Using for reference and enjoyment. As recently as just a couple of days ago. If you haven't bought one yet, your missing out on one best model car books ever offered. It's that good.
  16. I love his license plates. How good is his Rampside resin? Is it a complete kit? And how does it compare to kits by Modelhaus or Missing Link?
  17. As noted two years ago, it sad to see Carol and Don's business coming to an end. I have most of what I need from them (for now!). But there is still a lot of their stuff I'd still be interested in. But, since I have no real needs. I will not be fight the crowds and be disappointed that what I want, can no longer had. Or is sold out.
  18. There are several of us who like the Mustang "notchback" coupes/hardtops. And as noted in Greg's first posting here, Ford sold many more regular hardtops that first year than fastbacks. In fact, the hardtop was generally the best seller most years back in those early years. Despite having AMT's '66, I do wish Revell would make a hardtop companion to their '65 fastbacks and convertibles. Even if the hardtop is not as cool as the fastback or convertible, it's still cool. I want to see more.
  19. Thank Mr. Metallic for showing us what's in the box. Even though I built the Stevens International version a couple of years ago, and don't plan on building another one, I always enjoy seeing reviews showing the content of a kit.
  20. Nice Cyclone. I love Cyclones.
  21. Cool! I like it. I've got a Polar Lights Beetle I'm planing on trying the hydro dip paint technique. I hope mine works as well.
