  1. My favorite? Probably AMT's '57 Thunderbird. I love all of the AMT Annual and Trophy kits from the 1950's and 60's. And the MPC Annuals from the 70's. Jo-Han's Chrysler Turbine Car ranks also high. Renwal's motorized Visible V-8 was another old favorite.
  2. As noted before. Five down. And three more needed to go.
  3. ??? What does the above mean?
  4. Beautiful. A very nice build.
  5. Finally. The 1/32 scale '63 Sting Ray I've been waiting for over the last few months. I hope it sells well enough so we can see the rest of the other 1/32 All-Star series kits that still need to be reissued. For me, the '60 Thunderbird is very high on my want list. Followed by the '32 and '40 Fords. The Watson roadster is not terribly high on my list. But if they bring it back, and I hope they do, I'll buy one.
  6. X2. Those two generations during those years listed here above.
  7. Drool. I want one. Too bad I was too young at the time this was released.
  8. A lovely model of the best car ever to come out of Japan (IMO). Beautiful.
  9. I'm working on a Stevens-Duryea Touring right now. I'm impressed with these Pyro Brass Era car kits. With a little work, they build up very nicely. Fun to see that someone else has been building one recently. And it looks pretty good too.
  10. I'm working on the Pyro 1911 Stevens-Duryea Touring right now. Doing a general web search lead me to this thread. Very cool. I love some of those early horseless carriages. It's fun to build something different from time to time. Just finished MPC's Stutz Bearcat a couple of weeks ago.
  11. I too kind of like the smell of bottled enamel paint. But, I could never seem to get away from brush marks until I switched to acrylic paint. The spay enamel always gave me orange peel. No matter what I did. So for that, I switched to spraying lacquer. My models look 100% since making those switches years ago.
  12. I found two plus sides to Testor's Model Master Instant Adhesive. Both dealing with the design of bottle's dispensing tip. First, the bottle comes with two separate caps. One for the dispensing tip itself. And another for the top of the bottle overall. Because of this, on the second time using the product, there seemed to be less of a mess than I found from using other forms of "super glue." Both caps came off nicely. And I found no messy debris from the previous usage. Second, the dispensing tips design helps place the glue exactly where I want it. Again, more control and less of a mess. These are two good recommendations for this product, if nothing else.
  13. It says "2 New 1960 Models in One Pack!" That doesn't sound too vague to me.
  14. You are correct. It would be a Pacer. Ranger and Corsair did not offer a convertible. And the Citation convertible looked different. With much more elaborate cove trim and the bigger Mercury shared body shell.
  15. Was this a proposed product? Or did it actually hit the shelves? I know both models appeared separately. Both the Falcon promos and kits in a different box from that shown. The talk about how small the Levacar model is. The "real" full-size Levacar was small. It was designed to seat one person. I too don't exactly when AMT switched to shrink wrapping their model kits on a regular basis. But, just because they didn't do it on every kit, doesn't mean they could not have done it on a special release like the above. At the same time I don't know, as noted, if the set actually made it the stores. And if did. Whether it was shrink wrapped or not.
  16. Despite, or maybe because of, its simplicity, AMT's '63 Corvette coupe is still one of my all time favorite kits. Have fun with it.
  17. Okay, I tried the Model Master Instant Adhesive a couple of days back. It really seems no better or worse than other CA glues I've tried in the past. It's a little too liquidy coming out. But it worked okay. But, I can see no real reason why I'd buy their CA glue over others in future. And yet I'm not not unhappy with the product.
  18. The above is GM's Firebird XP-21, later known as Firebird I, turbine car from 1953. This the first I've ever known of a plastic kit of the car. Very, very cool. I wonder if the molds still exist? And if they do, who might have them? I've never heard of Paragon before this, either.
  19. I love both of the Studes shown in this thread. Very cool!
  20. A little to rich for me, right now.
  21. I guess I won't be adding a Revell '57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham to my collection in the near future. A quick search on the web, and I was surprised to see what the last reissues, new and unbuilt, are now going for! The next time I see one at a reasonable price price, I'm going to for sure buy it.
  22. After reading the above article, I've decided I need one. I've been thinking about it for a while now. And I think it's time to get one.
  23. The good old Renwal Visible V-8 was one of those great kits, until Revell got a hold of it, and simplified it. Eliminating the electric "starter" motor and light up spark plus. If they would ever restore that kit back to its original glory, I easily would buy another one.
