  1. Beautiful. R. Scott Aho
  2. I like it. A good looking model of a good looking car. R. Scott Aho
  3. I agree. It's looking pretty good. R. Scott Aho
  4. Very cool boats Alan. I like all three. R. Scott Aho
  5. Oh! P.S. The '62 Chrysler New York had the same front end look. The only difference is a silver mesh grille insert, and different center grille emblem. R. Scott Aho
  6. The more reasearch I do, the more I'm sure the '62 300s all came with the black grille mesh from the factory. Sport or letter car. R. Scott Aho
  7. I never knew a real version of this car existed before this. I thought it was cool as model. And I think it's just as cool as real car. R.Scott Aho
  8. I have a soft spot for the ZX from that time period. I like original 240Z better. But the ZX was cool for the time.
  9. The above brochure, which I have one in my collection, only shows the 300 'sport' series. Not the 300 letter car. The 300H. Which appeared in a seprate brochure, that I'm sorry to say I do not have in my collection. Still, interesting to note that the sport series 300 in the brochure shot has a blacked out grille. I do have the old 300 source book by Bonsall and Shields. That book is mainly reprints of old Chrysler 300 letter car brochures. Most years the letter cars got their own brochure. And they were black-and-white. This is true for the '62 H. The H was shown in a black-and-white fold out that year. It is obvious looking at the one photo in that brochure of the front of car, the grille is blacked like it's lower priced 'sport' series siblings. One last note. I do not always trust what I see in car sales brochures. Many times there have been changes made to cars between the time they appear on the show floor, and the time the brochure was put together. Late in year the company may than release a revised brochures showing the change. But, this did not always happen. I still would question if Chrysler may have changed the grille somewhere in the model year. For example, If rock chips were showing up on black finish of the 62's grille. Or maybe a change in the proceived customer reaction to the looks of the grille (more so with 'sport' series 300). Or of change in vendors who make the grille. Any of these could have effected what the grille would look like though out the model run. I don't if any of these happened. But, it is still a possibility looking at Steven's pictures above. R. 10. Alright! Other cool kit coming out in time for my next birthday. I just hope somebody like Firebird Designs makes some Mountain Dew decals for this kit. Coca-Cola is my second favorite beverage after Mountain Dew. So if I have to, I'll build it as shown on the box. R. Scott Aho
  11. Which version of 300 are we talking about here? The H letter car? Or the new Sport series 300 that replace the Windsor on the US side of the Canadian border? This may make the diffence. Though I don't have time to do any real research on this right this moment. Also things could be changed on the cars as model year went on. The car may have come with one style grille early in the model run. Than for what ever reason switched to the other. I'm going to have to look into this later on in the week when I have some time. R. Scott Aho
  12. The above sounds like it will be out right around my next birthday. Cool! Guess what I'm buying for myself as a birthday gift this next year? R. Scott Aho
  13. I love the Tamiya paint stands. And I've never had a problem with mine coming apart on its own. At the same time, why flip one over with a model attached? Why take the risks? If your trying to paint the inside on a body while it's on the stand. Just lift the stand and spray from below the model. Air bushes and spray cans will spray in an upward direction. So it works out just fine. R. Scott Aho
  14. I always find it fun and interesting to see cars from other parts of the world that were not sold in the US. The '82 above is beautiful. I've noticed in the past that the big Fords in South America sometimes carried Lincoln wheel covers. Right down to carrying the Lincoln star. Very classy. They look right for the car. R. Scott Aho
  15. I believe the MPC '71, '72, and '73 Cougar XR-7s had a vinyl roofs too. R. Scott Aho
  16. With two JoHan/Xcel models, that one could be done. R. Scott Aho
  17. What is the MAMA newsletter? I've already got the kit. It's not a great kit. But, it's not bad either. If you built the Ertl Boss 351 kit, or the original '73 MPC kit, you pretty much know what this is about. My only real complaint about the kit was the lack of correct '73 Mach I striping in the kit. I went to Keith Marks for the correct decals. I'm a little surprised with how Round 2 has done a lot of these reissues in the past, that they didn't expand upon the original decal sheet in this kit to includes those stripes too. Enough complaining. I've got the correct decals from Keith Marks. I'm happy. R. Scott Aho

  20. In general, I dislike vinyl roofs. But, since this El Camino has one, I'll keep it. It was a popular option on a lot cars at the time. For some reason not a lot of models kits came with a vinyl roof at the same time? So I have very few cars in my collection that have them. And for that, overall I'm glad. At the same time the El Camino does not look terrible with a vinyl roof. In fact I the yellow with the black roof shown on the new kits box art. I may just go with that. R. Scott Aho

  22. My prayers are with you to Harry. Get well soon. Your a very important part of this forum. R. Scott Aho
  23. It should be noted, the top car is the the '70. The one below it is the '69. R. Scott Aho
  24. Sad to say, but Mopar Magazine covered the above car a few years back now. Maybe even 10 years ago. The above car is a fake. Chrysler did not built it that way. Up until 1959 Dodge of Canada offer models that were Plymouths with Dodge front clips. With advent of the full-size Darts in 1960, Chrysler quit this practice. No more Ploges. The '60 and '61 Darts were the basically the same on both side of the border. With the exception of the dash board. '60 and '61 Darts north of the border came with Plymouth dash boards. From what I remember, the guy who built the above car claimed it was a "special prototype" or something like that. Mopar experts who have seen the car could tell it was a fake. And not something put together by Chrysler in one of their factories. R. Scott Aho
  25. I thought that was the case. And I knew the one from mid-70's was not the same. Again as I noted, I'd love to see the '32 sedan that came with the Willys reissued. I wonder why, unlike the Willys which has been reissued many times, they've never brought the Ford back? AMT's mid-70's '32 sedan would have very little interest to me. Since the subject have been covered by MPC's old Switchers kit and Revell's newer version. I do wish the '32 sedan delivery that MPC offered many years ago would also return.
