  1. I've sent Jerry a few emails over the last few months about some decals and have never heard back. Has anyone else had this problem?
  2. I guess I am one of those crazy people too. I can't see how so many can find it acceptable to hand over their money and wait months/year+ (see Perrys Resin topic) to get their stuff. Its the same complacency that was over in the 'latest issue' thread before it got locked. If people keep supporting these places with shoddy service the bar never gets raised and it will be more common.
  3. Why do people continue to order from places with such a sketchy reputation? Then go back and place another order when the first one was unpleasant? Some people must like the abuse. Having hard to find stuff doesn't seem worth it when it takes weeks/months to get it.
  4. Its amazing that more than one person has said something along the lines of 'I get it when I get it' or 'we are just lucky to have it' about the magazine but a riot will nearly break out if a kit gets delayed or the body proportions are off by .000000001 inch. Is SA better than MCM? Probably not. But SA does arrive on time. Just sayin'.
  5. I let my subscription go a few years ago because of this very reason. I don't buy into the 'i don't care when it arrives as long as it arrives' mentality. February issue should not show up in June. At least SA arrives on time.
  6. Pssh, theres no challenge to it if you take the wings off!!
  7. I bought 6. I think I did my part.
  8. I've never seen one built but I'm pretty sure GW Trucks has the wide hood conversion.
  9. Exactly. All we get is the same old stuff. Snooze. I keep hearing about the 'tricks up their sleeves' and upcoming releases that 'will blow our minds' yet the first quarter is a huge letdown. Where is all this shock and awe?
  10. I remember this truck from I think one of the SA 'special' issues a few years back. Impressive indeed.
  11. He got tired of having his stuff repopped so he closed up shop in 2005. I have a bunch of his stuff, it was top notch. CFC came after R & C trucking. Clint was the 'C' in that operation. A couple of the R & C engines and maybe a couple other things carried over to the CFC line. Occassionally his stuff shows up on ebay and goes for a lot. I remember a couple of his Cat engines going for about $170 each last year.
  12. I've heard it takes $50k to $100k just to get a kit to production. But that info may be wrong and/or outdated.
  13. Nice work. What are the dimensions on those super singles?
  14. The Volvo tanked. Thats why it is DC. You can still get the Pete 377 if that gives you an idea sales wise.
  15. Be careful dealing with this guy. He used to be cool to deal with but has gotten flaky if you are using the website or phone. He'll tell you he has stuff in stock then he 'can't find it' and you're sol. Or if you are looking for something specific he'll keep an eye out for it, tell you he got one in and then sell it out from under you. Don't bother with his mailing list. By the time it mails out most everything is already gone. Hope you guys have better luck.
  16. It wasn't a threat. I just don't want to be on the interstate with a guy running over his hours. I certainly wouldn't come on here and brag about it either.
  17. You seem pretty pleased with yourself for running illegal Matthew. Your 'creative writing' is illegal anyway you put it. The rules are in place for a reason. Its renegade truckers like you that give good truckers a bad name. I just hope we never cross paths on the interstate.
  18. Putting weight on it may cause it to crack if you put it on before the plastic has been 'warmed up'. I haven't tried it with weight on it or by going past straight and letting it relax. The plastic in these older kits can be brittle and could crack or break easily. One thing I forgot was that if you use the blow dryer method and get it to point where you are happy with it, hit it with some cool air to 'lock it in place'.
  19. For a long flat piece the best way I know of is to clamp the piece down on a flat surface and use a hair dryer on a low setting to flatten it out. I haven't tried it but I know some guys have had success with hot water on smaller parts. Theres probably a better way to do this but thats the ways I know. Hope this helps or maybe somebody knows a different way.
  20. The funny thing about these kits is that nobody wanted them when they were out because they were curbside. Once they disappeared it became a hot item. Luckily I snagged a few before they went bye bye.
  21. NASCAR is a joke. Tony Stewart was right a few years ago when he likened it to the WWE.
  22. The FLD was rereleased a few years back but I think someone on here said there may be a condo version in the works. I think the wrecker is cheaper this time around because it is Revell and not RoG. Or maybe they eliminated the extra parts. I know its not the Can Do version this time.
  23. I'm just saying wouldn't it be nice to have a kit of something completely different that hasn't been done before? Like any of the NEW Kenworth models? You could do a W900L from whats already out there a lot easier than say a 660 or 700.
  24. This topic has been done to death. Porky already has a couple W900L conversions and there are a few options for a T800 conversion. Why do people always want a kit of something already available in resin? If we are wishful thinking how about something that there is nothing like it on the market? With the Lonestar and Prostar at least there was nothing like it available. One of the newer KWs would be a better option (660, 680, 700). At least that would be different.
