  6. Boat is getting close to done. 56 tow car is done and awaiting to be brought together with the boat and trailer..... working on the business end of the boat now..... working on the diverters... you can also see the rest of the detail in the back end of the boat.... I used plastic tube cut in half and the kustom tail lights from the AMT 57 Chevy to make the diverters...
  7. can't wait to see your build come to life, have fun take your time and it'll happen!!!!!
  8. First off there are no dumb questions and I'm sure others will chime in on this. If you follow the directions you may do ok with it. Tamiya kits are well thought out and fairly easy to build. If you run into problems you can ask here and members will help you out through the process. Some Tamiya kits can be intimidating but if you take your time and follow along it should come out ok!!! On the matter of paint, most times this can be the most difficult part for a first time builder. If you've had experience using aerasol spray paint from doing crafts in the past you could be ok with painting the model. If your unsure try to paint something else, like a milk carton or something similar. Also if you're using automotive paint you will want to use a primer under the paint. You may want to use an automotive type primer as a base coat under your final paint... i will say from a dad having his ten year old daughter into modeling it is awesome to see you and others into model cars and cars in general!!!!!
  9. Wow looks awesome!!!! Dash looks way kool!!!!!!
  10. As of today the 56 is DONE!!!!!! Will be posting finished pics of it here later today... then I'll get to work on the boat to finish it up. Then when I get that done they'll both be put together and pics will be put in the finished section as one....... Ok, here are a few teaser pics so what do ya think so far???
  11. Koolness, who knew model cars and rockets would come together!!!! Well except when we were younger and put model rocket engines in model cars, but I'll leave that one alone!!! As he whistles and walks away!!!!! Lol
  12. Outside mirror and a decal on the back window and the 56 is DONE!!!!!!! Then onto the boat and trailer!!!!!! Not much to go on them either... trying to get them done for the NNL in April. Hoping I can make it there, hope to be recovering but may be able to get out for awhile.......
  13. true there, I keep my stuff along one wall in my one stahl garage as I don't have enough room in the basement to store it all....
  14. Looking sharp Bernard. Love the fades in the decals!!!!!!

  16. Love it!!! Looks awesome John!!!!!!
  17. Looking good so far!!!!
  18. that works pretty good GTX. Just goes to show how versitle we can be with little areas to work in......
  19. it's like poster tack, it allows you to hang posters on a wall without using nails. I know a few people that use it to mock up builds so they can take it back apart for paint and such.....
  20. would look kool for sure, but in my a.d.d. Mind and knowing on a real car with all wheel drive it may not work well. This why I kept it all the same width. I know on a real car if the offset is off a lot front to rear it'll cause drivetrain noise as it fights itself.. good idea though as it would look kooler........ and your right Richard, I took it as it was meant.... ?
