Thanks everyone, and yes, I did not want that cab tilted if I could help it. So as they say, one step forward and two back. New rear motor mounts, and radiator in place. Had to move the exhaust brace back, which I had forgotten before painting of course. Also am getting creative with the exhaust manifolds but the will fit in there, then I will have to get creative with the exhaust. I know it won't be correct with the real thing, but as long as it looks like it from 10 feet, I'll be happy.

We had two 65 Jetstars growing up, and I would love to recreate our red hardtop.

Working on mounting a resin GMC crackerbox cab onto a Chevy Titan chassis. One step forward and two back.

Everything looks perfect...for my garage.

I swear, I spend more time digging through parts boxes than actually building. Having to do a little scratch building helps stretch the brain as well. So up on 10 and cab mocked up.

That is a great idea. Mine is all in a drawer right now, and I had to dig through it twice today.

I love how it looks here, but it will be moved back or I can't get a radiator in front of it. I set the engine back last night, so we will see. Thanks everyone, really getting into this one.

Thanks guys. I spent this evening getting the cab to fit. Jeff put an aluminum rod in place for what I ass-u-me was a pivot point. I found these little brackets in the parts box and whadyaknow, the rod snaps right in. I also made sure it lines up with the bumper. Then I leveled the cab out on the rear cab mount, and it even tilts forward. I had to get the cab set so I know where to place radiator/ engine so everything clears. Oh, and that engine is a very tight fit. I definitely will need to set it back a bit for radiator clearance.

Good plan Dan. Don't let too much time pass or you will end up old and never got it done. Like I am getting. ? So after a couple squirrels named Falcon and Ranchero, I am back on this. First, I had to getthe warp out of that frame. A number of dunks in very hot water later, and it went from this to this....and yes, the frame is level. Picture is deceiving the eyes.

All these pictures just make me cry...

This old Ranchero I picked up has them. It is a screw mount chassis. I do not know if they actually came with this kit.

I looked at mine and you are correct. lol Glad to hear the fit is good. Never fun to run into an unexpected issue when you are just about finished.

My apologies Casey. Your help in directing me to different discussions has been invaluable in the past, and you are so quick with the help. I am not directing this at you in any way shape or form. It was the majority of posters that didn't even have one in their hands yet that bothered me, and I am sorry, but pulling out blue prints, and nit picking every little discrepancy, I found very irritating. I am sorry that it showed in my post.

That was no review Casey, that was seven pages of trashing the model. The first actual part shown was 4.5 pages in, and the discussion only showed three different parts. Only the posts with the pictures actually came from people who bought it.

I am getting ready to build my Trumpeter 65 Ranchero and have heard there are some obstacles to overcome. All input on these would be appreciated. TIA, Sam

I purchased it years ago off ebay. It came with interior tub and rear floorboard.

I love it! My 1:1 was a 1960 with a '66 200 six in it. It had the original three on the tree with overdrive. Fun little truck to drive. I plan on building a better model of it with the same chassis you used. Nice to know about six cylinder.

Yes Ricky, I did use the Ranchero chassis. I had to adjust the mounting points on the rear bumper so it would sit level. I also found that the chassis plate did not want to tuck into the body at the rear without a little squeeze and superglue.
