  1. Thanks guys! And thank you Jon Gnagy!
  2. Yep,just for the Corvette and Cobra. They just look wierd on a truck.
  3. I had that kit when it orignally came out. (64?) Even my clumsy, little kid fingers could build a decent model from the box. The only thing I didn't like was the flat sheet of clear plastic that you had to cut for the windows.
  4. Not a bad looking car. I saw this one on Ebay a few years back. It's a 1950.
  5. I never cared much for the early Monogram instructions with the photos of the assembly. They were kind of hard for me to see. I liked the drawings a lot better. Yes,parts name are handy.
  6. Yes,there's some real brainiacs out there.
  7. That must have been somethimg. Can you imagine people crowding a showroom to see the new Honda? Or new Ford, for that matter. "It has a new grille emblem!" "Biggest change in five years!" Boooring..... I'm old enough to remebr whne cars were restyled EVERY year, and people looked forward to the new models that came out-usually in Septmber. Now they come out 'whenever'. I was talking to my oldest brother the other day about this, and I told him,and he agreed, that there wasn't 1 car or truck that interested me anymore. That's bad... The cars are all 4 door jellybeans, and the trucks are these huge, boxy $50,000 behemoths. Don't get me started on SUV's. OK,i'm done. My .02.
  8. Yes,you can type in a specific kit name, like -AMT 1940 Ford ,or Revell 1957 chevy. For glue bombs, you can try ,projects, junkyard, junk, parts, builder, vintage,or anything like that.
  9. I wonder if they got the idea from Mercedes? Very cool anyway.
  10. I see a lot of good reasons there. A lot of us are getting older. You might have more free time, but the drive isn't like it used to be. Think back on how many models you've built in your lifetime. I still enjoy it,but I might glue a couple of parts together or paint something, and I'm done for a few days. I have other hobbies, and you guys probably do too. I guess just do what you can,but it's a hobby,so you can't force it or it's not fun amy more.
  11. I'd put a Hemi in it. Sorry,I couldn't help it... I know nothing about plane kits.
  12. Thanks,Greg!
  13. Your parents must have been so proud.
  14. 20 mule team Borax? Wow,you guya are old. Oh wait,I remember it,too. Never mind..
  15. Nice!!! You've got a good feel for that kind of artwork.
  16. If those Clydesdale were 1/25th,that kit would be sweet! Pretty cool as it is.
  17. I loved the sketchpad. I scanned and saved a lot of those. Very inspirational.
  18. love the Tucker! Here's my 50's style 2 door.
  19. The AMT 49 and 50 Ford had stock flatheads,as well as the 49 Merc and the 53 Ford pickup. The 49 and 50 had the hole through the block for the axle though. I thinl the later ones didn't have the hole. The AMT 34 Ford pickup has one too.
  20. Right you are. I wonder how many markers he went throught on that drawing, and what kind he uses. There's another video of him drawing in 'real time'. That one probably took all day. Still cool. I like the slightly rough style. I could nevr do it.
  21. it's more of a van than a wagon,but it's close enough. AMT 67 Corvette convertible.
  22. I think he means the whole car looks like a viny top. Like a pebble grain finish? That can't be right.
  23. Yep. I would keep it that way too. Very cool.
  24. Artist's acylic paint. You can probably get the color you want in a small bottle or tube. Clean the tires first.
