  1. Interested in seeing more pictures of the 712.
  2. Looks great so far Dennis. On a 1:1 when the remove the stock gas tank where is the new tank typically installed - in the trunk?
  3. Here is an original body. I don't have the reissue for comparison. Click on the picture to see it full scale.

    Porsche 550 RS

I have this kit in the collection. When I build it I hope mine turns out as nice as yours.
  5. I would certainly love to drive it - nice job.
  6. Turned out great David - nice work.
  7. If your plug wires are long enough drill deeper all the way into the hollow center of the block. Then push in as much wire as you can. This should eliminate the need to glue them.
  8. Turned out great Art - nice work.
  9. Walked right in to that one.
  10. I am the most interesting person I know.
  11. I tried a chat room a long time ago and found it very confusing. So many different conversation to try and follow. And being a two finger hunt & peck typist I just couldn't keep up.

    AC Ace Bristol

Well you guys are in luck. I showed the Ace to HRM and he is interested in casting it. I still have quite a bit to do before I am able to turn it over to him though.

    AC Ace Bristol

Thanks Steve. I have a daughter starting college in the fall so "investing" in model building systems/equipment isn't really in the cards.

    AC Ace Bristol

Thanks Phil. That looks like a beautiful car. That is an AC engine. The Bristol engine headers are nice too.

    AC Ace Bristol

    Quick mock-up.

    AC Ace Bristol

Steve, what is a home photo-etch kit?
  17. Great project.

    AC Ace Bristol

I'll show it to HRM and see what he thinks. Reproducing the grille would be challenging. My build plan was a race car with the insert and just a screen behind.
  19. Look forward to seeing this kit built.

    AC Ace Bristol

Filled in the bumperette openings and added some solid triangular rod to create a clean transition into the mustache, then added filler. I make my filler by melting bits of plastic scraps and sprue in liquid cement to create a goo. I prefer this to standard fillers. Since it's plastic it doesn't shrink and once setup is quite hard. It allows me to create sharp lines and edges. I still have some work to do on the symmetry and some more shaping but it isn't too far off.
  21. Welcome Bob. Always nice to have another motorsport enthusiast.
  22. Some great pictures thanks for posting them. Curious about this Cobra, never seen an original car with this style fender vents. The front fender flairs, air dam, bump in the hardtop, mirrors mounted of the windscreen frame, rear fender air extractors a lot of unusual details.
  23. I was going to mention the same thing that this looks like a re-issue of the Modelers set.
  24. Looks like a NASCAR race engine from an AMT kit.

    AC Ace Bristol

Thanks Richard. Do you have any recommendations for a kit source for the Zephyr engine? A Ruddspeed 2.6 Ace is another project I would like to tackle.
