Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
Kennyboy replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks Dave. The outer rim barrel was a Pegasus set of wheels, the inner centers are from a Tamiya Opel Calibra race car. Took a little work to get them to slide in. They reminded me of the wheels on Kindig's personal car the ecf1. -

I call this the Dollar Vette. I paid one dollar for this sealed never opened AMT 55 Corvette at my local club auction. It will be Kindig's C1. -

Hey Craig. For the whitewalls I have used white craft paint thinned and airbrushed. Apple Barrel from Michael's or Walmart. Good coverage and stays on tires pretty darn good.I also had done a set of blue stripe tires for a 34 Ford build with the above craft paint thinned slightly and run into the stripe "slot". Let it dry and wipe carefully with a qtip and water. -

This is a "what if?" build I am currently building. What if USCA decided to race trucks back in 1972. This will be Norm Nelson's Kilbourn Gardens/Schaefer beer truck. I worked at Kilbourn Gardens back in high school so it made sense to me. -
Keep it up Ben. Great to see you building again! It's really looking great

Why don't you just cut out the glass and make it look like the windows are rolled down? If you wanted to, you could use clear acetate to make the side windows in the down position. Just a thought

Built this kit a while back to match my 1:1. Had to chop the top off mine and use the convertible bits from a promo. It really is a nice kit. Nice job on yours!

My mockup of the Atlantis 57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. As you know, it must have taken a lot of work to get to this point lol. -
There are videos online of how to make a vacuformer with a shop vac. Just 1 idea

New build I'm working on. It started as a 57 T-bird....LOL. Apoxie sculpted Liberty Walk body kit and Rx7 fd3s front clip helped things -
My brother actually had a red Beretta GTU. My wife had a red Beretta GTZ and at the time I had a Calais Quad442 (that I raced SCCA). The interior of his was light gray with very fine red pin stripes in the flat of the seats.

I've always wanted to get that Auburn kit and build James Hetfield's (Metallica lead singer) Auburn called "Slowburn". Hope you do build this though....would be cool to see
-
Love it Chuck. As luck would have it, I built this kit years ago too and (like you) I built it far from stock as well.

Anton I am just loving that 454 SS. Awesome build!

Unfortunately the search function seems to be down....I thought I put it on here in the finished section but not sure anymore. I'll put some more pics of it up here. -

Thank you, my goal was to make it into that vehicle that Carroll Shelby always thought about getting his hands on but for some reason held off until 2010. Knew I would need to borrow parts from at least a couple kits to build a 1st gen Bronco that had intimidation. -
