GM and Chevy Quality
Ridge Rider replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What an interesting, informative, meandering, but still civil thread. Thanks everyone. I would suspect quality decline in all cars after 2007 because of the economic meltdown. It would be interesting to see real data on complaints and problems in this century. I would guess/bet they mirror the economy. I'm happy with my pre recession Dodge Ram 04 and Chrysler 300c 06. The Dodge had water pump, fuel pump, and clutch at 80-90k and the Chrysler had a bad cyl 6 lifter at 75k. These two combined were in the shop much less than the Chevy I had and I won't even talk about my Ford. It's whatever makes you happy and I am happy with my current vehicles after some bad experiences. -
Cool builds guys, love the creativity.

I would definitely stay inside, but this is one of the reasons I live west of the Rockies-milder temps with four seasons and low humidity . I do look forward to your build progress though Stay Warm -

Site Update Complete
Ridge Rider replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm guessing that nothing can be done but I miss the new content button compared to the unread content for the following reasons. With out clicking to open up a thread it is... Harder to distinguish the originator of the post vs the responder and we can only do a quick view of the last responder but not the thread starter. We can no longer see the start date of a post. Was it created today ( which is new content) or 10 yrs ago but is getting a new reply. I also dislike the round avatars. My 2 cents. Thanks for the great forum though. Steve -

"Holy Grail" Models?

I seem to recall this being an average kit but I really liked it and wish I still had it or any of my youth builds. -

Most of us seem to have traveled a similar road to get here. Welcome and I agree that this forum is awesome! -
Unusual Different Build
Ridge Rider replied to Olderisbetter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not a fan. The only thing that remotely interests me is the headlights being tied to the firewall but even that doesn't quite fit this look. E for effort. -
Too cool! I like the history and execution.

Neat project- I really like the first reference pic and hope you can show us how it's done.

I like what you have done so far and those tires look soooo much better.

X6 I have seen alot of conflicts over the years, but have felt the mods have been fair and timely to keep this a friendly drama free forum. Thanks

That is awesome, thanks for your effort and dedication. I personally appreciate it.

I like the color and subject. Well done.

Thank you all for the kind following on this project. I have successfully restored all pictures and added a few that were not in the original thread. I am trying to get back in the building mode to finish this but it's a process that can't be rushed. I do ponder daily about how to finish this but there are problems I am still trying to figure out how to build. I will post updates when they happen. The fabrication is very close to being done, I just need to make it happen. Thanks again, Shiny and Chrome, Steve

Thanks guys, it looks like I'm have some success at adding the photos but it is a PITA. Hopefully in a couple of days I can have this restored.

Hi everyone. Sadly Photobucket has blocked all my pics but I am going to try to upload directly to this forum and replace them all. The Gigahorse progress has slowed down. I have done a little work on the spear gun but little else. Thanks for the interest and support and wish me luck to restore this build.
