1/25 Revell Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon 2'n'1
om617 replied to Matt T.'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The time i would use on trying to open up the molded in hood,i could probably have moved the post and scribed new doorlines. These flintstone body`s often need lot of prep, the cast itself if decent,it`s all the excessive resin i find time consuming removing. -
Say in the description to contact him before you purchase anything. From Norway myself and i often contact the sellers first, most of them dont charge the quote made up by Ebay.

What Do New Kits Have Inaccuracies
om617 replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You know you dont have to use the word idiot or useless to make anyone feel like it. Also it kills off the fun of actually trying to make somthing if the response always are arrogant and rude. Constructive criticism and helpful advice (Pictures, blueprints etc) i assume is more helpful then "i cant belive you get it wrong because todays tecknologi and resources". These people deserve more appriciation for actually doing an effort at making classic car models. -
What was your 1st 1 to car
om617 replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bought it in High School at 16,then worked outside of school and in weekends to save up money to fix it like i wanted. It was original beige but painted white base and yellow pearl. It was brown inside so not to many options to go with it as for colors. So i bought double exhaust, painted it,got some new wheels and tires on so it was ready for my 18 birthday when i got my driving lisence. 77 Caprice Coupe Landau. Picture is from 1997 on it`s virgin voyage lol. -

Thanks for the info. From the looks of it on pictures found on google it should not be to hard make this conversion. -
Got a 66 Chrysler 300 body of Ebay, with cheap shipping wich was suprising to me. So soon the carnage/conversion can begin. Thanks for all the suggestions in the wanted section.

Very nice Porsche. I like that you painted the headlight buckets in bodycolor. Chrome rings dont match these later models with all the black trim. Subjective taste of coarse. Great build.
-
Very nice style on this.
-
Very nice detail and scratcbuilding. Are you planning on do this full details with the engine trans-kit?

It can be hard to capture with a camera what your eyes see,my photos tend to become awful lol. It looks fantastic so far. The engine could been on display all on it`s own. -
Modeling things you hate/love
om617 replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dislike - Decals. - When parts wont stick at first attempt with superglue. - Thick glass. - Tubs with molded in seats, nightmare to detail doorpanels. - Damage on brand new kit on arrival. Because of my location it result in lot of waiting. - Photographing models. - Caps-Lock and double postings on forums annoy me a great deal lol Enjoy. -Get ideas, then surf the web for 1:1 cars, watch build threads on here for inspiration and more ideas. -Mock up in primer, check ride hight, experiment with wheels and engines. -Put on the last strip of BMF,i know the most difficult part (for me) is now done. I do enjoy it. -Honestly,positive feedback feels good when it is a subject i`m satisfied with myself. -
Good looking Porsche,shiny and clean.

Very nicely done Jaguar.

Thanks. The bad is i had to use the old glass wich has some spot on it,also the mufflers did sag before the settle with superglue.

Found this gluebomb in a local add among some other older kits, all more or less 80% complete. Of coarse the favorite item was the worst, this 1973 Porsche rally car from Fujimi. I think the older Porsche are cool cars, very simplistic and functional, and i guess you all are familiar with the Singer, wich is the inspiration for looks. I`m not going to write an essay on everything done, just ask if you have any questions. Here is the result.
