  1. Think with reissues they have a pretty good idea what flies or not....they call it past sales data
  2. Unbelievable what comes out these days, subject matter which like a decade ago was tagged unsalable, great times we living it, modeling wise anyway Thanks for the heads up James!
  3. Indeed, the term they actually use is bagged shots, don't know if their reboxed in Germany or that they do it in Poland, where the production of regular Revell Germany kits take place....
  4. Think the engraving would be so fine, that it will be lost under the plating undercoat, if the market demands, a decal would be the way to go IMHO
  5. The idea isn't that far fetched, I remember when working at Opel's ITDC in Rüsselsheim in Gemany, seeing a Elky style pickup, based on the then current Opel Omega (Cadillac Catera), it was converted from a wagon....
  6. Wasn't that tool altered to eject a stocker?
  7. Ha, now that you show that, I do remember a Renault (think it was a R12) in the village where I grew up with the S&H paint scheme..
  8. The SVT has the grille part molded-in, a pain to paint IMHO.
  9. The front clip has the grille area molded open, with a separate insert for the grilles, on the plated tree. it also has engraved H/D badging on the fenders where normally the F150 is and it also has another end piece for the exhaust...there might be more but don't have a flareside supercab kit handy...
  10. You should only focus on the rocker panels, cuz on the rear the quarterpanel goes deeper (undercut?) then the floorboard, so technically one should simulate that with a piece of tape and spray over that. The longitudinal (enginebay framerails) should have a bit color from above, due to spraying the enginebay, Also think the factory painters sprayed with a 45° angel to cover the rockers and bottom of the fenders, rockers, and front and rear splash panels (panels below the bumpers) Someone who has been painting real cars in a factory setting will know for certain
  11. It wasn't included in their newsletter, so officially they didn't announce it.
  12. Yeah sometimes you wait with much anticipation on a new release, and then when you have it, it ends up on the shelf and the next time you pick it, ten or more years have past, scary
  13. Britmodeller Wonder how far into development this kit was, because IIRC Revell Germany annual press conference (where IPMS most likely got their info) where they set out the company goals and future release program is held each fall, and the lead-time to develop a new automotive kit is what, 18-24 months?
  14. Hmm....the Aston Martin mysteriously vanished from the IPMS list IPMS Germany news page IPMS Germany, listing of Revell 2017 announcements Did Q branch install some sort of clocking device in it?
  15. Some data on the TV series Some data on the movie I was still a kid (8) in '76, but did catch some episodes, which aired on a Dutch TV station, cuz normally it was past my bed time...later I saw some episodes on French TV but they're always dubbed over in French, there. That brings me to the TV show Hunter back in the 80s which was only on French TV (TF1) it wasn't until '89 that I heard Fred Dryer's real voice, and leaned his catch phrase wasn't "Sa marche pour moi", but "works for me"
  16. No problem Scott, I did saw it, but thought it was a typo, like Billy Joel sang "we're only human..."
  17. I doubt anything will be changed tooling wise, and that it also will be molded in red. The only differences will be, Italian or Portuguese decals, instruction sheet and cardboard wrapper.
  18. Maybe we can convince Moebius
  19. I know, just trying to tone down the discussion, cuz I can't hear the TV (watching American Gangster...)
  20. There's peace right here, sometimes we see frustration, debate, harsh wording, but it's because we love this hobby, and love brings out the best in us, but sometimes the bad too. Nothing wrong we're all passioned guys here discussing what unites us, everyone might not agree on certain topics, but what's wrong with that, nothing....and it would be a boring board and world if we would all think alike.
  21. Those dirty rotten scoundrel's
  22. Under Ertl ownership Amt had a similar range of pre-paints, but think they were a Wall mart exclusive.
  23. Bought the Protar kit when it came out, and built it too, it was BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, it didn't even last on the shelf, cuz threw it in the garbage can when one of the tires spliced. At that point in time the big ship Revell Germany was running without a navigator, cuz their car kits were terrible, $10 diecast looked better then their models, even when built with lot's of patience and TLC and unlike O.J.'s that protar kit at the time, fitted their product line, like a glove. I'm glad they re-invented themselves when they released the Ferrari 612 scaglietti (blue car on the box-art per Ferrari's request)
  24. Who knows what Nuremberg might bring, cuz you have trendsetters and followers...
