  1. A short mid term post from the instigator of this tread.. Thanks all who commented, already learned a lot and please keep it going! Luc
  2. One of the worst kits, with faaaaaaaaaaar too sunken glass, is the Revell Germany VW Corrado kit(s) I tried to improve it somewhat making the windshield a flush fit, but lost interest and gave it away to someone who loved to have one....now he has to deal with my hopefully not too crappy work.
  3. James, I did a lousy job of making my point, which is or should've been, that this "model" seems to do well (not breaking it down in Pro-street or stock version) not questioning it's return, no matter which version.
  4. The thing I get from this promo clip, is that Mopar B-bodies seem to sell well, cuz this kit has been around the block a few times now. Is it the Coke bottle lines (which mimic the female curves)?
  5. I only used the 1mm pen so far, and "chromed" some molded-in the body headlamp buckets with it, and absolutely love it. For the interior details I would like to see a 0,5mm version, and maybe with enough demand and support from the trade, it can happen. So Brett, you know what to do
  6. Paul, if possible aks him for photo's and if you may show them here. TIA
  7. My 6th grade teacher drove one, I hated his guts!
  8. Interesting topic.. Wel on modern automobiles where the black fret hides the glue, I'd say mount from the outside, just as per OEM. the location of the weather strip (on the clear or on body) hmmm, dunno which one would be better/easier to paint/mask On vintage (pre mid '80s) I prefer from the inside, the thickness of the pillars can be hidden somewhat, when one designs the clear with a precise fit (taken into account paint thickness) to the surround (windshield or backlite opening) but with a small almost "flash like" flange, (I think with current CAD technology a lot is possible) as a positive locator, glue surface on the inside.
  9. In his day and age, multiple versions are a must, I'm only trying to find out if Trans-Am is a viable alternative version or not. Then I need to find out how much of the content can be shared between stock and racing, because that can be a deal breaker too
  10. I'm sure they have a long long list, the only question is, what is the top 3 on theirs
  11. Bill, for some reason there's a 5 choice limit in the poll format
  12. Gents... Was reading a tread about what cold be next at Moebius and saw pics of Trans-Am racers. Therefore the above question....
  13. Would be nice, but it doesn't fit the Moebius "philosophy" With that I mean they have to able to release at least 2 siblings from that same basic tool, so they can spread the investment costs and generate more profit. Anyway...patiently and hopefully waiting for Dave to announce the next all new automotive kit(s).
  14. That one takes me back to the pilot episode of The Wonder Years, seeing an elky on blocks in a driveway
  15. add to that shipping and floating time.
  16. -I only tried the 1mm pen so far, and so far had fun "chroming" headlamp buckets from kits which didn't have those as separate parts on the chrome tree. kits like Tamiya's Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC, MB 600 SEL and S600, etc.......
  17. Thanks for posting what might have been, Dave. A pity that the tool is gone, but...then again the market isn't there anymore
  18. Great job, the only things I would've done different is dirtying the windshield showing the wiper marks and the backlite would be sugarlike christals on the packagetray.. But that's just nitpicking cuz the body weathering is outstanding!
  19. I agree, stunning absolutely stunning
  20. I'm not that knowledgeable on Chrysler products of that era, other that I like their styling, the same way the American public did, when these showed up in the showrooms at dealerships round the country. The question here is, when taking the skin off, how much is common and thus interchangeable between models, brands and from what production years, then with that in mind, what is possible with clever tool design (engine parts, chassis parts, interior parts, body and components and clear parts) for subjects for which there's a healthy demand. Maybe the knowledgeable Mopar fans here, can shed some light on this.... Hmm...this almost sounds like a $250k+ question
  21. Maybe, they're better off, making an all new one with a whole slew of siblings (to spread the investment and risk) they can use the Jo-Han promo kit in the design process, scanning it, checking the scale and enhance it with detail, and parts we'd expect in 21st century kit. Anyway this pure speculation on my part, but since one steps into a minefield, by just mentioning Jo-Han, an all new kit IMHO is the only way to go without having to worry about loosing your pants.....
  22. These are neat too... Lenses Reflector
  23. The European version of Jo-Han, with one slight difference, the tooling wasn't sold fro scrap, but kept.
  24. Think I built that one in the late 70s, was it motorized?
