  1. And it's gonna be real interesting to see what the future of that brings.
  2. Don't get me wrong here. I am not against reissuing stuff, hell no, I am extremely grateful they are. That way I can get new kits of the ones I screwed up as a kid without putting someones kid thru collage trying to buy it. And even better being able to get kits of things I would'nt have bought as a kid. I just don't see the need to reissue a kit of something you can still buy on the open market in almost all it's various issues. IE the AMT 57 Chevy or the MPC/AMT 1969 442. It's been reboxed a few different times so there would be no need to reissue it because there are still too many out there. Now in the case of the 69 Hurst/Olds, even tho it was also reboxed several times at least the latest was updated. Still too many out there and easy to get so there really is'nt much call for it.
  3. So why do so many of them set on store shelves for so long only to be disscounted for quick sale later ? Or for that matter why are there so many of them for sale on ebay continuously week to week with no sales, by the same seller. Sure logic would say they would'nt make them if we did'nt buy them but how can you explain the flooded market ? Just like you mentioned in another post about inaccuracies in this day and age of computers. Logic says it should'nt be a problem but yet it still is huh ?
  4. Thats you. Thats not everybody. The vast majority gets bored with the same subject matter day in and day out.
  5. Thanks but they don't seem to show up for me. Thats why I asked but no big deal I'll see it soon enough.
  6. Pretty much all major manufactures watch and read the internet now a days. What they do with the info if anything at all would depend their own buissiness practices and if it would benifit or hurt them. Of coarse Revell and Round 2 will listen to what people post. How else would they get ideas of what the customers want ? The internet is so huge and plays such a major role in our lifes now it would not be too smart to think they would'nt.
  7. Be careful. I just learned we are not saposed to question these things. I personally don't understand continuously reissuing the same kits over and over again myself when there are still so many varients of the same kits easily available on the market. Such as the 72 GTO, 68-69 Camaro's and 57 Chevies. I see craploads of these things set day in and day out on store shelves. And almost everybody has internet capabillities and knows about ebay. Yet reissues are still being made. There seems to be money for that yet I mention tooling up new tires and I get pounced on.
  8. I bet those things were scary as hell to get used to driving.
  9. Thats nice.
  10. So what other kits come with the new tampoed tires ?
  11. I apolagize to the board and Round 2. I was wrong. I dug out my latest 69 Hurst/Olds and compared the new tires. I see that these are not the same as the old tires and are in fact a new design. So I was wrong about them being the same 20 year old design. But they are still inaccurate in size so I was really only half wrong.
  12. Adding this nonsense certainly hasn't helped any.
  13. I have bought the latest version of the 69 Hurst/Olds with the tampoed L-60's. The size is still wrong.
  14. I love that. I still say if you cast it, I'de buy it. There is more then enough room in the market for the two of you considering the different years. Now if someone would do a 73-77 Malibu or Vista Cruiser wagon ..........
  15. Nice build and thanks for the heads up on these. I never new there was a difference.
  16. Did my first trade on here with forthlin. Mike was great and easy to work with. Thanks again Mike.
  17. Well since you seem to have a problem with me why don't we take this to pm's and you can really speak your mind there ? While we are at it you should get your eyes checked and learn some math. According to my dial calipers the tires are off. I can't speak for the new ones as I have'nt bought any yet. All I can speak for are the 40 year old F-60's and 20 year old L-60's. Why you are blowing it out of proportion with thie pitch fork nonsense I'll never know but thats your problem. All I've done was ask a simple question, if R2 listens and then state my concerns about the old tires since they are tooling up new kits. I did not know I was stepping over some line and asking too much nor did I want to start anything with anybody. This is my first post ever on here saying anything about my dissapointment with a kit or part. I appreciate that R2 is reissuing some great stuff and doing some new things. I am grateful they are making the new white lettered tires. I just thought in this day and age of more detailed and accurate kits it would be nice to have some more accurate tires. I did'nt mean to step on anyones toes.
  18. So when you inaccurately correct someone with merit it makes you right, huh ? Again, see my above posts with the "actual" correct tire sizes.
  19. Please see my above posts.
  20. Here are the actual correct sizes for real Goodyear Polyglass GT tires. http://www.kelseytire.com/pages/preformancetires2.html Doing the math......... L-60-15 should be 1.122 tall, section width of .485 and tread width of .360 and F-60-15 should be 1.050 tall, section width of .369 and tread width of .330. so you can see how much difference there is.
  21. Well if we did'nt use "I think" or "they look" when building our models for detailing and correcting them then they would all look like the same person built them. I'm glad you think they are great looking. You are welcome to your opinion but so am I and they are inaccurate. I agree with the memory as we get older but here are the "actual" tire sizes and facts. http://www.kelseytire.com/pages/preformancetires2.html
  22. To suggestions, thoughts and ideas on modeling boards ? I'm sure everyone has ideas and suggestions. One of my pet peeves and this should be easy to corect is the Polyglass GT L-60 tires. These are NOT correct in size. Anyone old enough and familiar with L-60-15 tires knows they were wider and certainly would not be used all around on any muscle car ever made. They would be too big for the front. I'm probably wrong but to me they seem more like a G-70's. I know I could just overlook it but why in this day and age of more detailed, accurate and exspensive kits. And while we are on the subject the little Polyglass GT F-60-15's are too small. They look right at home on what are saposed to be 13 inch wheels on Vega's and Pinto's. The real 1969 Hurst/Olds used F-60-15's all around on it. It's even on the newer boxes. So it would be nice to tool up some new correct size tires and correct the lettering on the old ones. What say you ?
  23. Nice wagon. Do you have any pics of the build ?
