Do you have the new type IX c-40? Not the one with the cut away deck casing, but the issue before it.

I still have a Gunzi 1/350 Lusitania to build and am still deciding if if I want to attempt the P/E, or get rid of the kit.

I built 2 of the mini hobby kits years ago on commission. They were really nice when done, but I don't think I could have survived the P/E sets too. Had they been available at the time, I have no doubt that the buyer would have wanted that too. P/E really adds to a kits overall looks, but my eyes and fingers just can't do what they used to.

Your a glutten for punishment my friend!!! I built the Titanic awhile back, pre- PE days, and that kit nearly made me take up stamp collecting instead.

Good find on the paints!! That's gotten to be the biggest expense of my builds. i'm currently building a 1/350 scale model of my screen avatar namesake, and just buying all the paint needed to build the ship in its pre-deployment colors is a real bear. I won't even get into the photo-etch. life was so much easier before i discovered that stuff...

I feel for you guys up there. We had our coating of about 10.5 last week. I saw the radar for your area this A.M. and it still looks pretty bad.

I worked at the big "W" years ago, and some of the stunts pulled on the returns people had to be seen to be believed. Some of the scams really had a lot of forethought put into them. The loss prevention people were really scrambling to catch them all.

Ain't that the truth!!!! Ridiculous but completely true. We need to be careful about how things impact the environment , yes, but some of the NONSENSE they come up with is completely idiotic, and almost too cumbersome to effectively implement with by DESIGN. By the time all these different agencies are satisfied, the cost over runs on the impact studies have made the entire project too costly.

The prices will stay low till another refinery blows up, or another brush fire war breaks out in the middle east, or some OPEC official has a bad day and stubs his toe tripping over a lobbyist, then the prices will shoot through the roof.(again) Big oil won't tolerate this level of pain for long. They'll figure out a way to stick it to us again. And your 100% right about the buying bigger vehicles thing. Some people need bigger vehicles, but I got rid of mine when gas hit close to 4 bucks a gallon. Never again....

It would be nice to see a sustainable, affordable alternative to fossil fuels, if for no other reason, than to compete with OPEC and the gouging that will surely come soon.
