Thanks Gann, means a lot from you, I've seen your builds! I will be, hopefully this weekend I think it's because I over-sanded the first coat, and when spraying out if the can from Halfords you get a lot of volume, I'm putting it down to experience... 48years, that's amazing! Whist it's not an accurate representation of the car, it's well engineered... -

Body is sprayed in Tamiya Aerosol and Zero 1K 1 light coat & 2 heavy coats I've test fitted the wheels with the body in place and the wheels stick out too mush, I had to cut down the inside of the hubs and shorten the rubber shoes that fit over the spindle that the wheels attach to. -
Monogram Ferrari GTO 1/24 Scale the 5 year build
Funkychiken replied to Funkychiken's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The main reason this build was on the bench for 5 years is the body shell. It has been primered, sanded and filled again and a gain about 5 times. It has been AB'ed with Tamiya X-7 acrylic, major orange peel & fully sanded back to the bone Then it has been primed again with Halford's grey and the paint cracked all over, sanded back again All this sanding has left some details lost along with my patience, but I'm determined to finish it... -
Thanks for the info Jonathan, its looking great.!

Well I love this kind of kit, it's right up my street, and it's a great build so far! -
It's a piece of artwork!

Looks great so far! I have a question or two though... Are you clearcoating before and after decals? If so, what clear coat are you using, and do you suffer from fit issues where the two gloss coats are too thick? Cheers! Great detail inside those doors! Are they hand painted details, or lots of masking and spraying?

Nice wheels!

I've got several on the go, but wanted to start one of my skyline kits, I've got several in the stash & it's one of my favourite motors. this is not a GTR, but it was cheap on eBay, something like a tenner including postage. It's not a great kit & some of the mouldings are of poor quality, i'm not intending on putting a lot of extra details in, but want it to look good in the cabinet - so the focus will be on the exterior. Photos are Box art, Chassis completed & misalignment of the exhaust box with the body shell shown!
-
It's a great start of a lovely car!
