Fantastic work Sean, professional all the way! Love the photographic presentation, and that display stand is uber-cool, nicely done!!
-
Awesome work Kenny, looks fantastic! Those are unique little cars, RPM up to 9000, from that tiny engine, sounds like a mini F1 engine in person, cool stuff!
-
I designed the chassis plate to accept & situate the engine + transaxle components, making final assembly easy, and since the body work conceals much of the lower drivetrain & transaxle from visibility, then some detail is not necessary in those lower corners
-
True Tom, I must be LOL
-
I started next on making the unique V16 engine & drivetrain Because the engine upper half & valve covers are readily displayed in the engine bay, I used some care in making that For consideration of final assembly, and ease in duplication, I decided to make the engine with head & valve cover(s) integral, but literally in half, so two halves joined make one compete engine, with only accessory ends and intake assembly needed after Also for same reason, I made the engine bellhousing & output housing as one piece, thus leaving the ZF transaxle as a separate component

This is little build project I started, while in between waiting for components/design, etc. of others underway I saw that I could probably develop this scale model using some existing donor components, and so a minimal amount of more labor/time intensive work (like 3D design/printing) It was designed by Marcello Gandini (of Lamborghini Miura, Countach, Diablo fame & many more), and the child of engineer & builder Claudio Zampolli It came into the world during that time of the 1990's when bigger was better & the 200 mph supercars started to come into being The crazy bespoke V16 (yes, 16 cylinder) DOHC engine is it's heart, backed up by a ZF transaxle & unique transverse engine, while longitudinal transaxle, meaning the trans input shaft takes power from the centered output of the V16 block (not unlike an old Alfa Romeo design) Enjoy! Originally I had thought to use a cheap (and not greatly accurate anyways) Lambo Diablo kit, but it soon became evident that to satisfy my own personal minimum level of acceptable accuracy, that a wholly scratch built chassis would be required after all

Wonderful project, and fantastic workmanship, looking forward to seeing more! -
Sadly negative experience here too, emailed ahead of ordering, and ended up not getting my product, even after long wait, didn't charge me, but that's hardly the point ...how hard is it to indicate up front items which are or are not in stock? Avoid Strada if possible IMO

Always a soft spot for early Mustangs ...more great work Pat!!

Thanks Ben, Ken and Jose I want to make some race seats, like Sparco's but I think definitely would need decals made then Some others I'm considering?
-
I also wanted some classic Recaros, but with much improved details ...started from a donor kit recast, I improved them significantly with deeper cut lines, refashioned the headrest to correct shape & moved with forward tilt proper, and then made new control panels one each side bolster (so I could make one mold & simply sand off one side control set to make either a driver's or passenger's version)
-
Couldn't find the Recaros seats I wanted, so decided to make some myself Started with casting a plug, and then heavily modified to make each version desired The low-back bucket I made from plug of the Toyota LeMans car seat & modified it I'm pretty happy with the results

Thanks for the compliments Gene I am working to get this wrapped up shortly in the new year

Ross Gibson...engines...sad news
Jeremy Jon replied to Howard Cohen's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Sad news to ever hear about happening to anyone, RIP Ross! -
Decided to separate the engine block from transmission, which will make much easier for casting, but also detailed painting before assembly
