Funny thing is the '32 SD is loaded with Coca-Cola decals - but the soda machine in the garage set isn't.

The Chevy pickup with the go-kart is in my future... someone paid over $100.00 for an original kart last month (with the streamliner body and wheels, which IIRC are available in resin).

The '66 Falcon arrived today; just as nice as it looked in the eBay photos. It'll stay as it is - too original to cut up. Also in negotiations with a friend from my car club back in L.A. - he's thinning his toys out and there's one old kit I built once and would like to try again...

Some talk on car movies.
ChrisBcritter replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Speaking of TCM noirs, there's also Mickey Rooney's Drive a Crooked Road (1955), where he plays a sports car racer/mechanic who gets roped into driving the getaway car for a bank robbery (a '40 Ford sedan). There's also a good view of him swapping a built-up flathead into the '40. http://imcdb.org/movie.php?id=46935 Free extra bonus: Getty Images has an outtake of the Packard crash scene, although it's a reversed image: https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/video/low-angle-tilt-down-packard-driving-off-road-then-stock-video-footage/562-48 -

Hey Jesse - you being from San Diego reminded me of this one: You may also recall a very mediocre comedy called My Man Adam shot there in 1985; I remember it because they wanted to shoot a chase scene that would run through Chicano Park. When the steering committee (including some of my fellow Aztec dancers) found out they wanted to drive through the park and send cars leaping through the quiosco, the committee sent them packing. -

Two more to look for on TCM: Johnny Dark (1954); Tony Curtis, Piper Laurie and a ton of early sports cars in glorious Technicolor: And 1955's Cell 2455, Death Row starring the great badass actor William Campbell in one of his best roles; some excellent car scenes with a '38 LaSalle convertible sedan ratracing around the Hollywood Hills, plus two very good chase-and-crash scenes (rare in '50s movies): -
What did you see on the road today?

Saw this yesterday afternoon at the TreeTime store in Barrington, IL: The four mismatched wheels and tires lend a touch of that "Santa's winter beater" look. -

"The one interested party that did go beyond an initial contact was unable to formulate a plan for advertising such a niche business and backed out." Strange; the Holthaus family did very well with relatively little advertising. Hope their retirement goes OK even if they don't sell. -
One more grail knocked off. Unbuilt/easy rebuilder '66-'69 Falcon kits are running a bit higher on the market than promos, so I picked this one up reasonable: Interesting thing here is these promos are basically identical to the kits; once you dismantle them and get the hood and engine filler plate off, you can add an engine and detail it to your heart's content. A shortened AMT Fairlane chassis should fit if you really want to go whole hog detailing it. Plus the Cycolac/ABS plastic used for promos isn't affected by lacquer, IIRC (anyone else care to verify?). One oddity: AMT got the headlights about 1mm too small, as can be seen in this shot of my great-aunt's car :

One of my favorites is Jonathan Demme's Crazy Mama (1975) - a lot of great vintage iron gathered (and in some cases wrecked) for that one. http://imcdb.org/movie.php?id=72829 -
Thanks for the link - there's some good stuff available. If the Heller Renault Estafette never materializes, I have an option; also that Simca Vedette Marly station wagon will get some CA plates and a load of surfboards when I get my hands on it! (At least one was imported to the USA.)

Well, shoot, 2018 edition: Again, first snow of the season, this time with a car cover and fewer branches.

Karl, I've been casting the hubcaps for that truck, plus the outer part of the wheels - let me know if you need a set.
