  1. Far out suggestion, man!
  2. VW Type 3 Notchback?
  3. First one's The Blues Brothers; don't know the second but it sounds like a Coen Bros. flick?
  4. Make it a Stepside?
  5. I'm still helping Tom Piagari's widow disperse his model collection; last night I took 28 of his uncompleted projects to the LMMCC meeting and sold most of them for her (big thanks to the club members who bought them!). She very kindly let me keep this one: Beautiful paint job all done; just needs body/interior detail painting, BMF/Molotow treatment, and final assembly. Thank you Leslie P.
  6. There was also a Mercury Meteor in '61; it was a de-trimmed full size base model that came in the 600 and 800 series (like Biscayne and Bel Air for Chevy). One-year-only model and it was the first big Mercury to have a 6-cylinder available.
  7. Look for the pumps from the original Buddy L service station - sometimes they show up on eBay: If you want an older style, check out these salt and pepper shakers: They need nozzles and hoses, but I checked them against the measurements of a real Tokheim pump and they're within a hair of 1/25th scale.
  8. Coming in late as usual, but beautiful job, Jean-Philippe!
  9. Not a bad idea; from the Hero kit Round2 could use the chassis, engine, firewall, windshield, wheel backs and hood - the body and grille had a lot of Western doodads (or geegaws ) engraved into it, and the interior's a two-door setup (although the dash and steering wheel might be re-usable). So new body/bumpers, interior bucket/seats, rear glass, and however many Green Hornet devices they'd care to add.
  10. feelings of accomplishment
  11. One heckuva job you've done saving this poor Falcon! Looking forward to more!
  12. They used a lot of 1/25 scale models as well - check out the IMCDb page: http://imcdb.org/movie_57790-Thunderbirds.html
  13. Well... Nobody's perfect.
  14. Finally got an NOS '62 Olds F-85 215 V8 and Roto Hydramatic trans; engine for the Jeep Dispatcher conversion and transmission for the '62 Catalina. I could also remove that accessory drive belt/PS pump and turn it into an A/C compressor for the '70 Wildcat.
  15. Anyone have a preview of the decals? I have an original kit, and I'd like to see if anything's been added (gauge and engine stuff) to the new sheet.
  16. Glad to see someone taking on this challenge! I had a '65 hardtop from '83-'85:
  17. Good on ya, Steve, and thanks as always for showing us how it's done! You, Bill Geary, and the late great Tom Piagari are my biggest inspirations.
  18. The '58 Buick interior/dash arrived and it's a good fit in the '57 body after a few trims, so I did some more resurfacing and reshaping on the roof and the seams atop the fenders to help bring the body from toy to model. Next I'll start hitting those epic sink marks...
  19. Speaking of Sam I Am, thanks to him I got most of a '70 Buick GSX engine/trans to fix up the AMT '69 430 to look more like a 455 for my '70 Wildcat. Got the belts/pulleys/PS pump, alternator, and the one valve cover in the purple pond right now.
