  1. The page has definitely turned! Saw this original unpainted '63 wagon go for only $17 and change on eBay the other day - kicking myself for not grabbing it for the interior, engine and grille...
  2. If you want to stretch the new bed and chassis to the correct length, I did the measurements on my '66 promo: Hope this helps!
  3. Aww. I always liked him. He made so many great films over the years, both comedy and drama - a couple favorites of mine were the original Fun with Dick and Jane and Carbon Copy which introduced Denzel Washington. Also gave a pretty tough performance as real-life Chicago gangster Peter Gusenberg in The St. Valentine's Day Massacre from 1967 - and held his own against Liz and Dick in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? a year before. RIP George.
  4. The molds I made the other night worked out fine - got good castings out of all of them; poured another set a while ago to get four each on the wheelcovers and a spare '69 Wildcat radiator wall just in case. Got Snake's piece soaking to get the canopy glue residue off so I can return it (thanks!).
  5. Loki, the dog we had in the '70s, as a cute puppy: A bit older; being a Norwegian Elkhound, she loved romping in the snow: My favorite shot: Yes, Loki was a she - my mom saw the name on a dog's picture in a book which didn't mention that it was male. Fun dog except when she ate a set of '40 Ford coupe fenders I'd just finished customizing.
  6. Love the box art! I remember it from when I had one around '66, and of course played with it to death. Scored a very very clean builtup last year: I figure I can give it a polish, redo the silver paint with BMF and Molotow, maybe give it wide whites, and call it done.
  7. Me too - hoping they do a well-detailed 194 six/Powerglide combo for it.
  8. Got a burst of energy and poured/potted a couple new rubber molds a few hours ago - one with wheelcovers for the Jo-Han '57 Plymouth and AMT original issue '67 Impala SS, and the other with Revell '62 Plymouth headlight lenses, portholes for the '61 Buick Special wagon, taillight bezels for the AMT '65 El Camino/Chevelle wagon (missing from those kits since the mid-'70s; I already molded the lenses) and the radiator wall from Snake's '69 Buick Wildcat to put a copy in my '70. That kit's a curbside but the '69 chassis, engine, and underhood goodies will fit.
  9. Sure, they'll just have to adjust the decals to fit the environment:
  10. This other Chris will!
  11. The LMMCC had its first meeting in months; one member won a Polyglas Gasser II '62 Pontiac in the raffle. He wasn't too interested, so another fellow and I bought and split it - I got the sidepipes, chrome reverses and all the tires and he got the rest to upgrade an original AMT '61 Bonnevile. A bit after we left, I realized I hadn't taken the whitewall inserts for the stock tires (D'OH!) - guess I'll leave a message in the club newsletter and Facebook to try and get them back... should have got his name at least .
  12. Snagged some bits from sportfuryus on eBay: Just the underhood stuff from a '62 F-85; had a bid in on the engine as well but I got caught napping and lost out. Got these for when I work up the ambition to cut open the hood on my '61 Buick Special wagon and put in an engine.
  13. Huge improvement from where you started - Bravo, Sam!
  14. And a B-400 convertible Victoria even nicer!
  15. A couple handy-dandy online calculators say either $74,879.43 or $76,443. However, the income tax rate on $8000+ in 1957 was 34% for a single person; head of household was 30%.
