  1. Pretty much all of them (I'm kinda old). Note the still-shiny bright yellow paint job and radiused/flared rear wheel openings on this '47 Chevy - must be a story in there...
  2. Nice! Thanks for posting it. I have a '65 88 and a '65 Grand Prix roof donor, but I'll be taking the somewhat easier route to make it a Jetstar I - the rear bumper and taillights won't have to be changed.
  3. Similarly, I drilled holes, but I added a drop of CA glue and inserted short pieces of very thin brass tubing letting about 1/16" stick out. Once dry I could slip in the plug wires, then dab on a bit of UV resin to form the boots, and a little black paint finished the job:
  4. Hi Tom, Dug through my custom parts box and found four - all NOS. Please PM me and we can work the details.
  5. 2-4. Jo-Han Eldorado, '74-'78. 2 & 3 are promo/snap kit; 3 is glue kit. 5. Correct - Jo-Han '63-'64 Cadillac. 6. Jo-Han '66-'67 Cadillac - maybe also '65. 7. Jo-Han '61 Cadillac Fleetwood. 8. Jo-Han '58-'59 Cadillac Fleetwood. Last two look like MPC Chevette.
  6. Are you going rise to the challenge and tackle this one? I've got a bare cab in my parts pile you can have if it would help.
  7. HL again. Remember the other day when I got my coupon back, and I said I wouldn't be safe until after Saturday? Yeah. Got the Revell Jeep Honcho Ice Patrol pickup, which I'd had my eye on for the past couple years, as the last last 40% off kit, and with the coupon (drumroll please): Alumilite translucent orange dye. Now I can cast me some turn signal lenses! And again I got the coupon back when I told the cashier I'd be saving it - she suggested I buy a frame for it... Guess I'll check out Michael's for that .
  8. Huge improvement on that kit! Not overdone - just well done.
  9. Yep - 1st-gen. I'll save that shot; good chassis detail there. The lower control arms look like the ones used in some Jo-Han kits (ambulance, Marlin, etc.).
  10. My home town had a lot of abandoned cars from the late '60s to the mid-'70s; my dad and I used to go out and salvage parts off them. I took a few pictures... Me with my brothers, and a derelict '58 Plymouth - I still have the wheelcover: Today this would be a viable project: A totaled three-year-old black-over-red Charger; someone pulled the drivetrain and interior, then dumped what was left:
  11. Stopped by the Niles HL today for probably my last 40% off kit; they're still pretty well stocked. Looked at the '34 Ford pickup and almost took the '59 El Camino, but in the end I picked up the Polar Lights Coca-Cola VW Bug. Having already built the others long ago, I'm heeding the advice of Mae West: “Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.” Some of you have pointed out the too-large taillights on that one, so I'll use the ones from the IMC Beetle. Put the coupon towards a good pair of reverse-action tweezers, and got an 8-oz. can of Testors enamel thinner, marked down from $10.99 to $2.74. The cashier returned the coupon again, so I guess I won't be safe until after Saturday.
  12. The paints weren't marked down in Niles today, but the 8-ounce cans of Testors Enamel Thinner were marked down from $10.99 to $2.74. I picked up one and there's at least one left.
  13. Let me dig through my custom parts stash and we'll see - how many do you need?
  14. I figured it was one more of the many sites that don't work on this old XP machine anymore, even after reboots and running CCleaner. My late dad's computer is on Windows 7 and eBay still works - and it's on the same modem/router.
  15. Late to the party, but yes, #4 is second-gen Corvair, '65-'67 at least (front) - the current issue '69 no longer has them. They're a perfect fit for the original AMT compact tires of course. I've picked up three or four sets; want to redo a couple as four-lugs to cast up.
  16. Looking forward to that '73 conversion! Will also need a bench seat to do the family car:
  17. It's an aftermarket knock-off of the '57 Olds 88 base wheelcover design, with six blades and a bullet added; the originals were 14" but the aftermarket ones were available in both 14" and 15" sizes.
  18. Frame grab from that TV movie, with a blooper: Another camera moves into the shot on the lower right.
  19. Thanks! I also used that method to make those big clear tail/backup lenses in the rear bumper of the Jo-Han '64 Caddy.
