  1. Aw man. Only got to see her once, back in '83, but it was a memorable show also with Darlene Love, Martha Reeves and Ronnie Spector.
  2. Paul, you may want to take a look at the custom headlight/fender extension setup from the AMT '64 Pontiac Grand Prix: Nice design, and you almost never see the Grand Prix built custom, so it's not too familiar - but not too hard to find the parts either. I recognized the airplane parts you used - they're from the old 1/48 scale Aurora B-25 bomber.
  3. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this one! One note: The headlights in this kit are nearly flush with the top edge of the front fenders; they should be more hooded. For my kit I took the hooded headlights from the AMT 1959 Mercury to adapt to the front end; they're a close match. I took the opposite tack when I did a 'shopped sedan delivery - chopped the front to match the rear:
  4. Agreed on that GTO. A lot of different bodies can be made to fit that chassis - hmm. Maybe the Hemi Under Glass '66 Barracuda, or '65 Comet, or...? Hope the '64 Cutlass gets announced in March.
  5. Hmm. Going casual today, dear? Where's your necklace and tiara? Remember back in the day when we weren't bombarded with ads? Me neither.
  6. The '67 Impala, etc. wheelcovers arrived, smelling very cigarette-y, but the purple pond should kill the odor. Also got the '60 F-100 glass intact; has some faint stress lines on the passenger side but I guess they all will be like that.
  7. So how many of us have built whole junkyards? My effort from 40-odd years ago: I added more cars and got it a bit more detailed after these shots were taken. I later traded the whole thing (except the forklift) to Tom Beauchamp for some old unbuilt kits, and some of my cars were reused in the Neuchamps junkyard diorama:
  8. Those are now listed as "Your Price" so the coupon no longer applies . Michael's still allows their coupon on Alumilite, albeit 20% off instead of 40%.
  9. You could improve its looks a little by gluing a couple thick (3/32"or 1/8") metal rods with CA inside the rocker panels and clamping them straight. You'll want the slower, thick CA for this, and go over the rods with coarse sandpaper first. Good luck!
  10. If i don't recognize the number, sometimes I'll answer and just say "Security" or "Shipping department". Doesn't do much for automated calls but it gets rid of the scammers quickly. Of course, it also confused the heck out of my nephew and my cleaning lady when they called !
  11. Yes, but they got it wrong. '42 Chevy sedan for comparison: Cut out the extension, and it's really obvious; note the quarter windows behind the rear doors, which the Packard does not have: Whoever IDed it probably was not a car person. Not saying the Packard wasn't at Los Alamos; it just wasn't the car in that photo.
  12. The one in the black-and-white shot isn't a Packard; it's a '42 Chevy.
  13. No, sadly. I guess if they were .jpg files straight from your computer they'd show.
  14. Got a better '60 Ford pickup glass unit on its way, cheap-ish, and ordered the new Nova wagon from Des Plaines Hobbies - should be there sometime next week.
  15. Glenn, can you post the images directly as files in the message? I'm getting blank/"forbidden" messages and can't see them.
  16. Just won these cheeeeep a little while ago: Three '67 Impala wheelcovers on the upper left, plus a pair from a '62 Tempest on the upper right. Time for another mold...
  17. R.I.P. Melba Stokes - my favorite Cloris Leachman movie, Jonathan Demme's 1975 fifties kitschfest, Crazy Mama:
