Thanks Kerry !! Believe me that song is permanently on loop in our house, but its fun Or the ..There,'s a snake in my boot lol I realized the cartoon nowadays are more educational than when I was young, at least the ones our daughter enjoys. We only had a mouse thumping a cat, and some tiny people that always had hypothermia that lived in a mushroom. The official post is up !

Cant wait to see what ya come up with Kerry ! I'll be posting the main topic today unless my daughter keeps me playing house or building another snowman lol
-
I was planning a similar start date as last yr, Feb- Aug .
-
I asked driptroit if he minded if I hosted the BRBO 2020 , and he welcomed it ! So it sounds like we have interest, so I'll start an official post and folks can enter there ! I'll ask one of the mods if they'll pin it , making the topic easier to find. Cant wait to see what everyone plans to build, and enjoy the projects along the way ! See ya ll there Oh...yeah I'll definitely allow any scales , I'm dying to see the N scale trucks
-
I'm not the campaign manager for the BRBO, but would be cool seeing smaller scales included so more builders could enter ! 1/160 now that' would require magnifying to build
-
Heck Kerry join up for some fun truck chat, and distractions from home life for a while ! Theres a few squirrels trying to derail my current build but if the BRBO takes off again I'll have something to mess around with

Oshkosh snow plow
gotnitro? replied to gotnitro?'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks ! Thank you ! Started the Frink style plow hitch today since we just went on Christmas holiday at work. Few sections of evergreen angle, sheet and strips created the profiles . I have plow lights coming from vcg resins , really looking forward to adding them . The square tube poking out will be replaced w a longer section that will hold the wing support post up The plow lifting cylinder will attach to the wide angle piece -
Looks great so far , good choice going with the new frame !

Thanks Bob ! Added the side supports last night and roughed in the spreader chute. While the tamiya was curing I started detailing out the product door and rails. Meng bolts and angle finished the door track thanks for following -

Plans ? Nope just photos I took of the truck and available images online. Some is purely SWAG -
I'd participate again , really enjoyed watching all the builds come together I'd have to get my squirrels back from Tbill though !
-
Sam - those squirrels definitely have a way of distracting me !!! Now I've learned how to make heavy duty springs, another set will find it's way under the kw ...after the plow wife kinda suggests I finish one before starting another. I dont see the fun in that though

That's nickname given to local town because the Brockway assembly plant was located there before closing, and the hood emblem is the Husky -

David- nope I'm in central NY . We used to get snow enough for heavy plows , but their mostly seen in the Tug Hill region -
Funny this post popped cause just yesterday I was looking thru stash trying to find an engine, and the KW oil field truck was sitting there. I picked up a suitable rear suspension for it at last model show from plaskit...I've gotta get that one back on the bench Cool how things like this revive a build

Thanks for input, the issue was discussed on social site, and was determined that Oshkosh had changed cab after 1971. The wipers location changed to above glass instead of the cowl. I didn't check the truck serial number when I visited, but now curious . As far as the model goes..I'm gonna move the belt line trim down and get the windshield opening cleaned up and move forward. Thanks for all the feedback helping make it more accurate Stay tuned !! -

gotnitro? replied to Warren D's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Sounds like my R model build..only model I've built in last 10 yrs I wanted to throw against the wall. Ended up using an older kit I traded for and tossed the reissue into the closet. Nothing fit right instructions were total joke . -

Ok I broke out the power tools and modified the windshield location. Its roughed in right now without any filler , but wanted to share and get opinions. Before making the insert pattern After gluing into the opening, drilling the corners and cutting the new opening I havent tampered with the trim yet, as the 1-1 has both strips, these just run short. The top molding should extend to the hood and be lower Any feedback welcome
