  2. Nice clean work ! The project sounds like fun too I'll be following along
  3. awesome work Darren, the front springs look fantastic !!! great idea using tin for the metal bands around the leaves. love the bomber seat too, truly ratty lol we wont let ya drop this into the 4 yr pile again
  4. awesome mod sectioning between the lights keeps everything else perfectly centered well done !! my favorite yr cuda cant wait for updates
  5. Took a few days to get the body seams cleaned up and lay a few coats of Testors Go Mango lacquer , and after drying for 30 minutes 2 coats of ultra gloss clear. heres the results . ill let it rest a few days to properly gas out..then wet sand the slight orange peel out. I haven't decided it'll need any more clear. now its time to get that Hemi finished and get the union guys to drop it into the chassis. any comments welcomed jeff
  6. oops, looks like we' re jumping ahead to hacking plastic lol I dumped the planning cuts pics.. next up was right after mocking up the freshly cut chassis' and truing up the cuts prior to gluing them back up. I added a few strips of angle stock along the tubs to give me more surface area to re attach the chassis section, not wanting this to snap in half after those massive tires are installed ! Of note..too late I realized the 2 kits were different scales, but figured I could make up the differences w strip as needed. next up stick the axles and K member on and get this sitting on its tires..I really wanted to see how the stance would look ! wait till ya see this.. right away I noticed the pic was missing the wheel moldings, and I had to open the wheel opening anyway..so time to break out the trusty motor tool, going slow and switching to files cleared the trim off about as fast as the car looks lol now the tires are in the wind like I wanted ! last test pic...the one most others will ever see of this road runner..tail lights thanks for looking
  7. I've had this photo on my phone for months waiting for the perfect time to start another quick build...well its time !!! I'm using the 70 roadrunner for the main parts, back halving a coronet super bee for the tubs and HUGE tires, and the all important HEMI wheel burner. lets start with the inspiration shot.. well that's where I'm headed..so grab a tasty beverage, strap into a seat and hang on !
  8. You definitely get what u pay for..
  9. thanks for the opinion ! I actually found the papa truck for a deal at lhs ! Now to build that wrecker
  10. Love the seat pedestal I definitely think you could successfully build a front leaf spring like scotts. It's just strips of plastic stacked getting slightly shorter towards the top, then he used a plate and probably paper clip wire for the u bolts . Easy peezy . The shackles look like a couple hollow tubes glued together w detail bolts on the ends.. Either way sure you'll nail it
  11. Keep em coming ! Thanks for the blast mat info too..being from the northeast I hadn't seen them used ..only thing around here is corn fields and meth heads
  12. ditto x2 !! awesome work on the rear springs it's adds so much detail . Can't wait to see what you have in store for us on the front keep up the fantastic work
  13. Awesome work as usual
  14. Now that's a wrecker lol Ok I'm stupid what is that lifting
  15. Love that twin boom holmes 850 on mighty mo !! The heavy recovery is sweet to There's a large recovery company nearby w several heavy units including a couple twin steer petes we see on the interstate picking flopped trucks ! Love the wreckers , wish they made more possible kits of them
  16. Very cool now it's possible to build that KW wrecker
  17. Great update ! When I built devils cut the tranny was really low in back too, but worked our perfect with the read diff allowing a very low stance your appears to be sitting perfect for ! Was your pete cab from the snap pete conventional? I've been planning another rat after watching this based loosely off cut worm specialty builds , just need the right cab and engine for the proper attitude
  18. Nice work so far ! The added bolt detail and gusset plates really make your attention to detail stand out keep up the great work
  19. Snag a screen shot of your desired oil filter decal, paste to MS paint..scale down , print on decal paper till you have enough for lifetime. Selling them.is a no no , using.for yourself is fine. Most pics of the decals are easy to find on interweb search that'll pass .I've used this method for several tough to find decals, granted the resolution from paint is not fantastic but will work
  20. Kfs used to make a resin Holmes 750 that's unfortunately out of production, but does occasionally pop up on ebay from time to time. That'd be perfect for the load star . There's been a bed on evil bay for awhile , but it would need serious attention to straighten the warps
  21. Very nice
  22. Very sharp car love the color
  23. Fantastic work so far , cool job of opening up the vents and offsetting the engine. That frame is awesome too
