  1. Cant wait to see this come together ! Those Foose trucks make excellent conversions
  2. Looking forward to another fantastic build from your bench ! Enjoy these vintage truck builds that you build . That expanded metal screen looks similar to the type available in wire form screen from craft stores . Dave Natale suggested it for my catwalk on the snowblower, same that comes with his cabs
  3. Thanks ! I'm getting a little carried away adding stuff , but I have the time to make it look correct . Yep thats the water level gage spot . After paint , ill add a clear rod to the fittings
  4. Thanks Brian ! Awful time battling mosquitoes while spraying today Thanks ! Thanks Dan ! I was curious how the details would hold up under the enamel paint . Lucky light coats prevailed. I kept looking at the giant water tank , and decided it needed weld beads. CTM makes fantastic pe weld beads , and fortunately I had a few extra pieces from my Heil trailer. The water fill port got a few missing bolt heads , and the pressurized air fitting on top now has the brush guard. I kept looking at the tanks from my photos and realized what that piece of angle was for ..let's add it ! Now its ready for prime time Back to the grind tomo , and stop by agway for some red paint
  5. Really cool change fixing the bulged glass!
  6. Fantastic detail work !!! Love the history of these old trucks I was actually gonna ask which HET took its place , but you provided that answer being the Oshkosh M911 .
  7. Nice start looks like a good project
  8. Took daughters 1st school day off...what better to do to pass the time then PAINT!!! I sprayed the cab, hood , wheels and frame outside. Using the implement paint over 5 different colors on the frame surprised me with the quick coverage . 2 light coats had everything even and still showed all the details . The rest will be regal red, then detail painting will break up the monotony
  9. Ahhh okay makes sense now , the rectangular tube looked unusual. It was certainly a gorgeous color , looking forward to Warren's build
  10. Excellent color choice for the merc ! Their wet look clear tends to bubble on me just looking at it..learned to leave alone and allow to settle
  11. Really nice work , enjoying this build !
  12. Sorry if I hacked your post , got excited when I recognized the truck from the show lol
  13. Ya know now you mention it , they do look odd, almost capped on top . I didn't get a close inspection of the truck, there was a big crowd lurking around it . I did overhear it had a 270 Cummins under the hood though
  14. I like the way the front blends into the body , especially looking forward to the rear treatment watching how you graft in those pieces
  15. Beautiful work
  16. Sadly heres the only clear one I have , my dad wandered past camera during the remaining shots .
  17. That truck was gorgeous, actually won people's choice award at the Cortland homecoming. I might have a few photos of the truck I took that day
  18. This is really starting to take shape now well done Interesting how well the cab and curved sides on the ramp flow together
  19. Thanks Dan ! I dabble w cars a little ..I have a few cars planned along w random specialty trucks .
  20. Thanks ! I'm really pleased it blended .
  21. Really like your plan, this old White looks perfect as a flatbed
  22. Were all heading into the last few months of the BRBO, and starting to see more builds restart ! Let's make this another record year for complete builds if possible Thanks again for everyone's participation
  23. The squarish angular cab really shows the trend of the day, reminds me of the snow fighters of Oshkosh , Walter etc all beautiful trucks over built for heavy work. Your winch is a tiny work of art ! One of those models that would really be special to look at left in raw plastic with only a clear protective coating applied .
  24. Beautiful work Fantastic color
  25. Well, im actually very surprised. I ended up sanding hood down to bare plastic after spotting faint ghosting in my new primer coat . Knowing this could be highly visible under the clear, and likely to annoy me more . A quick spray of tamiya fine red , then 2 even coats of gunmetal resulted in a sigh of relief. Checking the color against the car body showed I was there , and could clear it . My biggest concern was the metal flakes laying down the same. 2 coats of wet look clear had everything blending , and satisfied I could polish away any orange peel . ! I'll give the hood a solid few days to cure then start assembly! Thanks for all the feedback assuring me this could work
