  1. Very nice truck , can't wait to see your trailer
  2. Today the weathering starts, I mixed up a few dirt/ mud colored tamiya pigment powders and coated the frame and tires . This will be a multi layer attack on that shiny paint job..if ya can't stand trucks dirty...hit the back button and scroll past...thanks for watching up till now First coat slobbered on to create a deep dust coat , yes its very heavy right now..its gonna lose most of it..its a Mack not an Oshkosh it can't handle that much dirt lol The tire treads got mucked up pretty heavy, I looked at several plows working my roads and they looked dusty w sand mainly w a trace of slush . I went a sand mud powder and glossed it on. Once it dries ill brush the treads down . I added some dirt /sand in the wheels to create the buildup seen when trucks parked . The sides got a little more than I planned, getting carried away w brush. Ill adjust the buildup layer later Thats it for now ! Thanks for watching
  3. Definitely agree ! Seems even the newer cars are really getting destroyed by salt . Frames rotting out .
  4. Good looking project !
  5. Nope , there's no time limit to enter . Welcome aboard Rog
  6. Awesome fabrication. !!! Enjoy watching these projects develop from a pile of plastic and photographs
  7. Your rolling !!! Fun project just to build something w a short time line
  8. Thanks if the blower doesn't chew up the roads the chains will lol can't have this beast stuck in a drift , now the drivers don't have excuses
  9. Thanks , chains took about 30 minutes per run to make once I had the routine down. My wire ties got much cleaner on last set so I reworked all the crappy ones w new loops . Really glad I took the time , the truck needed something more visual to complete the story and think the chains help. They've been dusted w weathering powders cant wait to hang em
  10. The louvers look fantastic !!! Really enjoying this build
  11. Dents add character ! Loggers aren't usually pretty show trucks as Warren said . Looking forward to your updates
  12. Built up a set of tire chains today, once one pattern was figured out they went pretty fast. I used oval shaped jewelry chain for the long sides w round craft chain for the cross bars like photos I found . Pinned 6 inch long chains to Styrofoam to keep even then cut 12 bars at 12 links each . I used small copper craft wire to tie them together. Make piles of cross bars then wire together repeat...repeat..etc Wrapped a tire to check fit and snapped a few pics ...I originally wasn't sure on chains , but after mocking up on chassis I was sold . And the money shot.. They're in primer now , can't wait to hang them for good !
  13. Thanks , this is getting weathered a bit so hopefully those spots will blend in. I'm gonna try to touch up those dots Those stripes really worked out along with the black hood..breaks up the yellow ! Now to do something with interior and add glass
  14. Holy smokes ...that cab looks like a poor recast from an original master . Warren's right though, its always easier to remove material then add . You'll have this whipped into shape though
  15. Fish eyes... I washed the cab, primer laid down clean then color coat had a mysterious brain fart other side has a few spots too
  16. I had no idea of the detail in these HO trucks wow very cool Thats a slick looking Holmes wrecker
  17. Update time !!! Sprayed a few detail colors on the truck once paint has plenty of drying time . The anti glare hood , and chute was airbrushed w flat black, then the blue DOT stripes sprayed across the blower engine compartment. The bank cutters also got a squirt of red primer. Looking at the chute photos I gotta add more black along the sides.. Enjoy!
  18. good looking deck ! That plastruct deck is so nice to work with, and looks very good under paint
  19. Ready to watch another fantastic build develop! Seeing your abilities to fabricate parts on your lowboy trailer, this will be another killer build The one big piece of construction equipment that was available aka Michigan loader was a huge model. Your right though , stuff like this would be incredible to have available, but very costly .
  20. The bed frame looks good ! Really like the tear drop shaped wheel openings
  21. You'll definitely hear that genny running !!
  22. Brian that looks ? really well done mixing the dusty frame w glossy exterior that owner takes pride in his fleet ! There's a local paving company fleet i see coming home from work, their trucks haul the nastiest oily blacktop, yet the trucks always look brand new .
  23. Man thats a gorgeous Ford ! The colors work perfectly together.
